Anyone attend the WDW Golf Classic (schedules this year Oct. 17-20) and rely on WDW transporation?

How have you gotten over to the Magnolia and Palm courses?

I know Disney provides a free Taxi if you play - what happens if you want to go to the tournament? Is the free taxi still an option? Do buses run? Should I just go to the Transportation Center or Poly and walk from there?

Thanks - I'll be staying at All-Star Movies and planning to watch Sunday's final round.

My understanding is that you go to the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) and catch a shuttle bus from there.... but I could be wrong.

Good question - keep in mind that the resort - Shades of Green - adjacent tothe golf courses is not open at that site, so Iwonder what transportation is offered. If you choose to walk from the Poly, it is a nice stroll along a paved path. We used to walk it a lot when the resort was the Disney Inn.

Bigcat is correct, the shuttle busses to the tournament run from the TTC parking lot. Last year we tried to drive to the course but were turned away at the entrance to SOG (as were many other people!). The shuttle loading area is at the far end of the TTC parking lot so I would almost think you would have to take one of the trams from the TTC buildings out to the shuttle loading area. A word of warning: they won't allow any personal items at the tournament, no cameras, cell phones, back packs, etc. You'll be checked before you get on the shuttle. The shuttle takes you right to the entrance where you purchase your pass.

Last year the crowds were low and we got to see all the players up close, even Tiger! Also at the entrance is a large board/map of the courses where the location on the course of each group was indicated. That way you could walk right to the location on the course that your favorite player was. That saved us a lot of walking. We're looking forward to going again this year!

I intend to wear a fanny pack - with just my wallet and sunscreen in it. Will this be okay to bring into the tournamant? I also want to bring a pair of binoculars, is this okay?

I guess that was two questions! Sorry :D

Thanks for the responses. I volunteer at alot of LPGA and Senior PGA events but this will be the first time going to a PGA event - I'm excited!

My wife wore a fanny pack and as I recall, they made her open it so they could inspect the contents. Everything that wasn't allowed had to be carried back to our van. As far as binoculars, I'm not sure if they are allowed. To tell you the truth I don't think you'll need them since the crowds were so small you were practically on top of the action. The majority of the crowd was following Tiger so following the other players was a breeze! Getting autographs was easy also, except for Tiger of course!

Compared to other PGA tournaments I've been to, this one is by far the best for spectators. Have fun!!
