:wave2: Hi!! My name is Sharon and I am mostly a lurker on these boards. I am in need of some help to come up with a training plan.

This past January I started running...with the only goal of becoming healthier. Imagine my surprise when I realised that I LOVE RUNNING!!! Well, I have now registered myself for my first Half Marathon! I have run 2 5k's since the beginning of the year and have been training just to train since I didn't have a race planned. I currently run 30 mins on Tuesday and Thurday mornings with a long run on Sundays. I walk for 30 mins on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday, and Saturdays are my rest day. This past Sunday was my longest run EVER of 8 miles!! :cool1: I am so nervous for this half but I am super excited! The half is on Sunday, November 17 and I am also doing the Race for the Cure on Saturday, November 2, so I need to incorporate that into my training, as well. I guess my question is: How should I increase my mileage before the half? Thanks so much for any help provided!

Without getting a little more background, this is a first stab at what I would recommend....

Starting with this Sunday Oct 13
9 - 4 - 10 - 12 - 6 - Half

With regard the 5k on November 2, just run it. It will more than likely be too crowded to run hard so run at a training pace or slower. Then run 12 the following morning.

In the mean time, add 15 minutes to each of the midweek runs. I would prefer to see you producing work just a little longer.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much, Coach! That all seems doable to me!:goodvibes
