Sorry, I know theres probably been a million threads about this, but I really need some guidance!

If we got the plane to Charles De Gaulle, how easy is it to get a train (Where is the nearest stop?) to DLRP?

Or, is there an even easier way to get there?

Sorry, just trying to work out whats going to be cheapest for the trip!!

We did this yesterday. we got day passes for zones 1-6 as we wanted to get out in the centre of paris for the day.
the RER is right outside disneyland and disney village. it's called marne la vallee chessy. or just chessy.
in charles de gaulle there are two stops - one in terminal two and onefor terminals one and three. you can buy tickets with maestro or at a desk.
the journey on line b into paris takes 45 minutes. then you can either go to the louvre/walk along the rue pont neuf to look at the eiffel tower, or change for line a towards chessy.
the RER platforms have boards with lights which show the stations the train stops at.
even with a day ticket for all types of transport it was cheaper than VEA.

That sounds easy enough!! Will put that idea to Robert tonight!

Thank you!

Or did you want to use the TGV, which takes 10 mins from CDG to DLP?

Bolanette,

There are two different types of trains that stop at Disneyland Paris (3 if you include Eurostar). The first is the RER (regional train). This is probably the cheapest way to Disney but is easily the slowest and the most hassle. It takes about an hour and a half and you have to change lines at a busy station in Paris. To get to Disney you would take the RER line B from the airport to Chatelt les Halles. From there you would change to RER line A to Marne La Vallee. All the trains are frequent so you shouldn't have to wait too long for your traint.

The other type of train is the TGV (high speed). This is easily the quickest way to Disney as it only takes 10 minutes. The only problem with this service is that the trains aren't as frequent. At most you get one an hour (I think). It's also more expensive. It costs about €20 each way (prices change depending on times of day). You can book tickets for this service here http://www.raileurope.co.uk/. It's very easy to use this service, just follow the TGV signs at the airport.

Other transfer options are:
VEA bus takes 45mins, buses every 30mins. Costs €17 aduluts €13 children
Private Shuttle - Takes 30mins, they'll be waiting for you when your plane lands. Costs €85 for 4 people

When are you going?

We're leaving on Thursday and haven't been able to decide how to travel to DLRP from CDG. We've been swaying between taxi and TGV and have decided that we're not going to know what's easiest until we get there. So...... we've just decided that we're going to play it by ear when we arrive and see which option seems the easiest then, so if you're going after we get back on 10th, I can let you know which option we went for.

I guess it would also depend on the terminal you're flying into. We're flying into terminal 2F, so the TGV station is right outside.

If you have a look up at the useful info sticky and follow the link "travelling by plane" you can find lots of stuff in there. Prices, websites and maps of CDG terminals etc.

Hey Cookie! We haven't booked yet, but I would like to know what option you go for!!

TGV sounds a good option. Has anyone else used it before?

I will let you know how we get on and what we decide. At the time of day we arrive (flight gets in at 9.20am) the TGV actually works out the cheapest for us. There are 5 of us - 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby. The TGV is £39 each way, the VEA bus is 60 Euro's so about £49 each way at current exchange rate and a taxi is the most expensive at 90 euros.

We're not too fussed about the cost though, more worried about convenience, so will definitely be going for the easier option.

One thing I noticed is that it's not very obvious from the info on the vea website where the coaches go from. and i didn't see any signs in the airport or anything - that was what put me off.
the RER suited us as we wanted to spend the day in paris - otherwise the TGV might have been a good option.
what i was happy with was that the RER station in the airport was so handy for the terminals.
i HATE the forum des halles shopping centre, but the actual RER station is not sooo bad and there are very quiet ways in and out like the sortie rue de rivoli. as the trains are so frequent you can miss a busy one to be first in line for a chair in a quieter one.

I've used the TGV twice now (last time was yesterday).

The TGV departs from CDG at terminal 2. If you arrive at any of the gates at terminal 2, you follow the signs for the TGV.

If your plane arrives at terminal 1 or 3, you follow the signs for the CDGVal - this is the free internal tram which runs very frequently (every 10 minutes or so) between all terminals). You get off at terminal 2, and follow the signs (2 escalators down) to the TGV platforms.

Everything is very well signposted I think.

Our plane lands at terminal 1, and I think the VEA is well signposted there. It used to be at exit 20, but is at the moment at exit 32. However, when we arrived at CDG on Monday morning, there was a VEA greeter at our exit, with a VEA Disneyland sign - he was helping people find the VEA stop.

I recommend taking the TGV. It took me an hour and a half to reach disney from CDG using the RER (you need to transfer once in Paris to A4 "Marne la Vallee at the busy Chatelet Les Halles station). A lot of time can be could have been saved using TGV with travel clocking in at 10-12 minutes to DLP.

Hi, any more news on good experiences with the TGV? I'm going next month and it seems like the its going to be the cheapest and fastest way to go,, my only worry is the last train leaves at 9.50pm and my flight doesn't land until 9.25pm so I'm a bit scared that I might miss it after getting through immigration, baggage etc. Anyone know roughly how long it might take??

Thanks for the help :)

oops forgot to ask as well,,, once you get off the train at DLP, how far is it away from the hotels? I'm staying at Santa Fe, would I be able to walk there from the station? Are there any Disney buses that pick up from there??

Sorry so many questions, but I will be on my own with DD6 quite late at night and its a bit worrying :(

Thanks again!

There are yellow Disney buses that run every few minutes to the Sante Fe just outside the station. These are the same buses that take guests between the park and the hotel as the station is next to the park entrance.

Phew! Thanks so much for putting my mind at rest, I feel much happier about getting the train now:banana:

In my opinion, 25 minutes isn't enough. Planes are often delayed and it can sometimes take a while to get your bag. Then you've got to get to your station from your terminal.

If you missed it, it would be a bad start to your holiday.
