Is it worth making a trip over for Trails End? Do you need an ADR for there? We will have a car. Is it best to drive?

I used to LOVE Trail's End but I had breakfast there last year and sadly I think the quality has gone down a lot.

I used to recommend making a special trip over there, to see the petting zoo, too, but now the petting zoo is a shadow of what it used to be...

I hope somebody from Ft. Wilderness reads this and realizes it's time to do something, guys! Hard to make them care though when the campsites are booked up solid year round, it's like they've gotten too popular for their own good.

We went the first year we went to WDW for dinner due to the high response from allears and we were all disappointed. I felt the food was mediocre and it wasn't all hot. Looked like it had been sitting there for awhile. The price wasn't worth it at all. We took the boat from MK because we were there for the day and the kids enjoyed the boat ride over. It isn't that far a walk up to Trails End. Now if you've been to HDDR then the food is made from the same place. Now we did HDDR last year and I felt the food was better there then TE. We took the bus back to POR after and it was a very long bus ride (MK was closed when we left). The bus went from HDDR to a central post station from there we had to wait 1/2 hr to get another bus to DTD then hop another to POR. Not fun:scared1: with 3 kids...

We went this past June for dinner and thought it was nice. Our server, Gary, was the best we have found throughout WDW. The selection was not as wide as other WDW buffets but it was good. I also liked the atmosphere. We were staying at SSR...we took the bus to MK and then the boat to FW. It is definitely a decent meal for the price.

We enjoy eating there and feel that it is one of the best deals around the World. If you drive, you will park in the front parking lot and then take one of the internal buses around to the restaurant. You usually don't need ADR's but if you are going to be there during a busy time, they would be recommended.

We went for dinner in August and despite the crappiest server ever, we thought it was pretty good. I thought the salad bar was very fresh and it was clean. I would probably go back. I didn't think the variety was huge and the night we were there, they did not have ribs (bummer for DS) but there was still plenty to eat . They also sat us down below so we weren't as close to the main area as I think we would have preferred. We took the boat over from the WL to get there.

I noticed one poster mentions that the night they went there were no ribs. Does anyone know if ribs are only available on certain nights? I booked this since we have never been and my husband loves ribs.

Thanks.

Trails End is one of our favorites and we make a point to go there every trip. We were just there for Thanksgiving lunch and it was good as always!

True the selection isn't the biggest around, but what's there is always fresh and tasty.

ADRs usually aren't necessary unless it's a particularly busy time of year, but it has been growing in popularity recently, so it's a good idea to have them.

The easiest way, in my opinion, to get there is by taking the boat from MK.

we've eaten breakfast there once and enjoyed it - though not as much as some of the other buffet breakfasts on property...we had ADR's, but really didn't need them. not sure if demand fluctuates here seasonally or not.

it's a different kind of atmosphere - i would definitely recommend trying it at least once for at least the experience....
