Just got back from our 1 day trip, we ate at Trails end in Fort Wilderness..the ribs literally fell off the bones, the sauce that went with them..omg!!!
The chili was to die for (if ya like chili with meat, and not spicy), but to me it was the best deal in Disney at 18 bucks per person for a buffet.
They had fried chicken, chicken and bisqits, wings, ribs, mac n cheese, pizza, salad, pudding, cookies, chili and tomato basil soup, omg the corn bread and butter, my mouth is watering!!! Anyway, we got to sit under a buffalo, which my 4 yr old didnt enjoy too much, but it was better than the stuffed bear(life size) that she was terrorfied at!! BUt, it was a fun atmosphere, with stuffed dead animals all around, ya sat in like wooden chairs, ate off these plates that were like 5 lbs each, and drank out of mason jars. All in all it was :goodvibes nice!!

Arguably the most underrated dining site in WDW. A totally unpretentious eating establishment. And the Crockett Tavern, which serves as home for an annual gathering of Walt Disney's Davy Crockett fans, is adjacent to it as well!

Curious, did you have an ADR-- I know they have suggested them for Trail's End now. I'd love to go, but it may be on the spur of the moment and I don't know if it'll work that way.

Glad to hear a great review; I used to love Trail's End!!

We don't know if your question was directed to us or ilovemyjj; however, the few times we have eaten there we just walked up and waited (if we had to) at the Crockett Tavern. Like all WDW dining establishments the number of guests depends on a number of circumstances including time of day, weather, etc.

Enjoy!

All the best!

Thanks BC1836--

I really hadn't directed it toward either of you-- never thought to-- but your answer helps me of course! Since I may consider eating there the week after T-Day, I'd think it might not be too bad.
Thanks!

Eat early if no ADR!!!! Long lines by 7PM!!!! There was in Feb and again in March anyway.

We got there around 5pm, we waited a total of 2 min to get in. It was pouring the whole day, but I read a post that said for dinner the best time is between 4:30-5:30, so that's what we did. Even around 6pm, the place was half empty, so waiting was no worries!!;)

Enjoyed reading your review, thanks for posting.

We were there on 10/16 before the campfire (so around 6 pm). It was dead and we definately did not need an ADR!

We went on Sunday, 10/28 at around 6:30. We had an ADR and still waited about 15 minutes. We didn't mind the wait because FW had some type of party on their beach and shot off fireworks. We had a perfect view from the front porch.

We loved the food...it was actually our favorite place. The cornbread is to die for!!!!! I would highly recommend this place. The only downside is getting to FW. That can be kind of a pain, but we were lucky in that we didn't have to wait too long for any of the busses (we took boat from POFQ to DTD, bus to FW depot, then internal bus to FW settlement). If I had to do it over again, I would have taken the bus to Magic Kingdom and then the boat over to FW settlement.
