For those of you who have dined at both - which to you prefer? The menus sound similar - are they about the same?

Hi. I prefer Trail's End hands down. You can control what you want, and the food won't be all mixed together. The ribs and chicken are very tasty. They have both fried and grilled chicken, if you're concerned about all that coating! It's basically the same food as the Hoop-De-Doo.

Plus a visit to the Fort is wonderful. The Settlement has a little shopping, entertainment and a very nice "feel" to it. If you go at the right time, then you can see the Electric Water Parade from the beach and Wishes, too (they pipe in the music.)

There's a nice salad bar, and a make your own sundae bar, too. You can eat at your own pace, and in whatever order you want!

We got a bit sick from the WCC dinner - my DD was up all night. Trail's End was much more relaxed, too. If you're looking for a rowdy and somewhat dinner, then go for WCC. Many people love it! Not us, though. We're Trail's End forever!

I've been to both and while I love eating in the lodge, Trails end offers the same items as well as many other yummy things. Like the other poster said, you can control what you get....and it did seem more "relaxed" and vacation like.

It's still a rustic atmosphere and I love resort hopping to try out all the restaurants. I like checking out the general store and if you time it right or make a reservation for it, you can also catch a horse/carriage ride right outside of Trails End.

I agree Trails end has so much more to offer. As I have posted many times Trails end is a nice surprise, its the least expensive all u care to eat and also the ability to walk around fort wilderness campground. BUT I still love the antics at WCC.[/B ]

We've eaten at both and prefer Trail's End. We try to plan time after dinner to take a walk, visit the gift shop, etc. Before we bought DVC were stayed at Fort Wilderness several times so it is sort of like "going home" for us.

The skillet at WCC is kind of similar to the buffet at Trail's End but we prefer to have the variety of the buffet. The antics at WCC didn't really interest us all that much when we were there - we don't have young children.

Thanks for the input! We went to Whispering Canyon on our last trip and liked it. It is booked for the night we wanted to go this time but we can get Trail's End and from the sounds of it we will love it! Thanks so much! :thumbsup2

We liked Trails End better than WCC. Trails End is a buffet with pretty much the same stuff as at WCC plus a few more things.

Trails End was good. I went there because they had fried chicken and wanted to try it. My husband enjoyed the ribs also.

I guess I am the only one who would do Whispering Canon. Don't get me wrong I like both but WC would be my first choice.

We do Trail's End every year and we really enjoy it. We stay at a condo and the inlaws stay at the campgrounds in their camper so we meet them for dinner there. The food is really good and it's really layed back there. Then we go watch the water parade and fireworks. It's really neat and I suggest trying it all out at least once.
