We just came back a couple of weeks ago and wanted to post about our Trails End lunch experience. We have eaten there about 5 times and it has always been GREAT! Well, this last time it has changed drastically for the worse.

The donuts and any baked goods were gone, no longer being offered I was told. The only dessert offered was apple crisp. The chili pot was completely empty except for some burnt stuff on the bottom. The salad fixings were all over each other and most were almost empty. There was a man behind the buffet watching everything but he was literally doing nothing. His apron was filthy and I was actually shocked at his sloppy appearance. I told him the chili was empty and he actually looked surprised, and wandered off to the kitchen.

This has always been one of our favorites but this time it was really dissapointing. Oh well maybe we will try again, it could of just been a REALLY off day :(

We were there in lat Oct and there was only 1 dessert and n obaked goods but everythig else was neat and plenty of chili. Like you said maybe it was just an off day.

I ate there for breakfast and dinner; great both times. I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience and really hope that it was just an off night and not a trend.

We just returned and all was fine for our lunch. I never try to judge a restraurant from one bad experience. (I'm on my 4th trip to LeCellier, and still can't figure out why people rave about it, but willing to find out.) As for the donuts, the only time I've seen them at lunch is when they are "leftover" from the breakfast buffet. They are NOT a regular item on the lunch buffet. I guess the OP got lucky when they found them previous times. The apple cobbler has always been the only desert we've seen at lunch time, except last week, when there were a huge cake offered. (I guess there was some sort of celebration--and it was available to all guest). This place changes half of their offerings each day. While chicken/mac&cheese/pizza are regulars, the other items change daily. The only problem we had last week was the HUGE groups coming in for lunch. They had a group of 18 followed by a group of 24, causing large wait times for others--up to 30 minutes, which is alot for this small place.
