Trails end or Food court ?

Many times, after walking all day long in the parks, I just don't feel like sitting down at Trails End (especially when it's packed). I would really like to see a nice food court added to the Fort, where I can get some decent take-out food.
I used to love grabbing a take-out buffet on the way back from the parks and going back to the motorhome to watch some TV. But since they stopped allowing the take-out buffet, the only take-out selection at Crocket's Tavern is limited to chicken, pizza and nachos.

Does anyone else think that a small food court would be a nice addition to the area? :confused3

I brought this up months ago and yes I totally agree. I think its nuts that you cant get a cheese burger and fries at FW.

I totally agree. A food court option would be very nice option. Something along the lines of what they have in the WL would be great.
Nice to have the option of a quick bite, and not a sit down meal.

Absolutely agree. At least there are a few "take out" items available (and the pizza is decent) but I would imagine a real food court would do really well at the Fort. I know we would use it.

Don't forget the "Giddyap and Go" famous fried chicken picnic lunch!

I would love a food court with some healthier options. Some of the other resorts have some great stuff. We would definitely get something to go and take it back to the cabin.

On board all the way with a food court...or at least a better take out selection! :thumbsup2

I will jump on this bandwagon.

I don't even need a food court. Just a counter-service place like at Wilderness Lodge or the Poly. It would make good business sense for them to do this. They already have all of the kitchen equipment, and they could make room in the existing buildings there to fit in a small area to sell the food.

Such a place would be a gold mine for them. I know we would eat there a lot.

Not to be jaded but a counter service food court is a very low margin business for Disney. Contrast this to the very high marging food items sold in the Trading Posts and I don't think we will see a food court any time soon in the campground. :sad2:

If the Fort had a counter service option and a pool with some theming and a slide, it'd be nearly perfect, IMO.

I would think a food court/counter service would do great at the Fort. When we come in from the park we dont want to sit down either and would love to spend $$ for a good selection of "to go". But as it is we spend $0.00 because we have a kitchen. So Disney loses all the money we spent at the Winn Dixie near by or the Food Lion at home.

A simpler option for Disney would be to provide cart parking at WL near their foodcourt and open up the path to cart traffic. That would allow a large percentage of FW patrons easy utilization of an existing, and well-supported facility with essentially no risk. I would imagine they see installing a foodcourt at FW to be a major risk, since so many choose to cook in their camper. Heck, they found the business at Trail's End to be so hit and miss that they killed hot lunches... if hot chicken is too much to risk, what would they consider a new facility, staff and food?! Maybe they will try something simple like a hot-dog and pretzel cart near the marina to catch the folks taking a midday break?

Now, THAT'S, thinking outside the box, Shan! How I would love to take my cart to WL instead of the boat, riding my bike, or waiting for the bus. However, since they changed the food choices at Roaring Forks, we find we don't go over as much. They used to have a "Chef's Special of the Day" there, which offered a killer open-faced turkey sandwich on Saturday nights. They also had a great philly cheese-steak which you can now only get at Port Orlean's. If they had a food court at FtW, we probably would stay on property more to eat than to go to the Ale House or other outside restaurants.

Sorry to go OT but we went to Ale House last week for the first time! LOVED it! We will definitely go there again!

WOW thats a great idea. I cant believe it was not my idea. I am up for any reason to drive my cart. Lets start a petition:thumbsup2

I don't think that you can compare the hit and miss of Trails End to having a counter service or food court area. The hit and miss of Trails End is because many of us don't want to sit down and eat at 9 pm when we get back from the parks, but we would stop and buy a burger or sandwich to bring back to our campers.

Trails end serves basically the same food every day, with little variation. Why would I want to fork over $13 to $19 per person. plus tip, every night, to eat the same buffet. If they put in a food counter or food court, I would totally spend more money at FW, instead of going to Publix to buy hamburger or hot dogs for the kids, etc...

I mentioned this at the take-out counter to a nice cast member, who told me that they had a notebook behind the counter for suggestions and complaints for just such a reason. I encourage everyone that thinks that a food counter or food court ( or Shan-Mans great path idea) would be a good thing, to tell a cast member to put it in the book.

I love the path idea. We don't eat at FW because of the food is just too heavy for us everyday. I would love some fruit and sandwiches.
