Hello,
Trying this thread, posted in wrong one :)

My kids are obsessed with the food at the HDDMR. Mainly the chicken, ribs and the CORNBREAD..
we are from overseas so this type of food is a treat. LOL... and I grew up on it!!

anyways... the show will not work out so I was thinking about Trails End. I looked onlie and it said fried chicken ribs.. are these the same? And did they have cornbread?

Yes, they are pretty much the same. Can't speak for the cornbread at trails end. I don't really remember it. Maybe we'll head there for lunch sometime this week and I'll report back

I think they share the same kitchen and it is exactly the same thing. They have ribs, chicken and cornbread on the buffet and I can't imagine them making them different for the two venues. No strawberry shortcake though but I've read reviews that said they will bring it out for special occasions... but they do have lots more!

I actually prefer the Trail's End food over HDDR. There is more variety, and the baby back pork ribs are excellent. I have seen cornbread on the buffet, so you should be good to go there too. Like others have said, they share a kitchen, and have a simialar theme.

Awesome! I was thinking too it has to be the same kitchen.
One more question. We will be there beginning of september.I read online that the chip d dales sing a long thing starts around 7:30 pm.. campfire etc...
can anyone confirm this? Having a hard time trying to get the times.. as I would plan dinner at TE and then head over there.

and is it worth it?? my kids are not too little but will get a kick out of the smores and fire.

Trail's End is FANTASTIC. So downhome and comforting. Love them..

The lunch menu is a la carte now, not the same as the dinner buffet.

Same kitchen, same food, but a lot more!! Cold peel and eat shrimp, hot fruit cobbler, definitely the same perfect cornbread!!

I heard the strawberry shortcake is at TE now too!!

It's a great way to spend an evening. You'll need to take a bus to the Meadows for the Chip n Dale singalong, they are not in the same area as Trail's End.

I think he means is the food the same. The chicken is pretty much the same. I don't think he means is it a buffet. Lunch has been a la carte for a while

This is all you need

The "he" I was responding to is you, You said you would head to lunch soon and report back. You can not eat lunch at Trails End and report back on the dinner experience as it is vastly different.

They do have cornbread at lunch but they have neither the same fried chicken nor the ribs on the lunch menu

Hate to hijack this thread but I am so glad to hear so many positive reviews! I am planning a dinner ADR here for out next trip (never eaten here) and I have never really heard much about them in reviews. I am planning on dinner here on our rest day. Hoping to get a late afternoon trail ride with my older son and then meet up with hubby and younger son here for dinner.

I can eat chicken, ribs or cornbread and tell them if its the same thing. If they make those items at lunch, they're not going to make them differently for dinner. "Lets change the fried chicken recipe for dinner just to mess with them!" I never said I would tell them about the "experience" Not sure where you get off being rude and telling me what I can do. I am trying to help someone.

I'm not trying to be rude and clearly I am not communicating to you.
My point is:
You can NOT eat chicken, or ribs at lunch. They are not offered. They don't make them at lunch.
I am not talking about the experience I am talking about the food. See the menu I attached.

I too am trying to help the OP by clarifying your incorrect expectation setting.
Sorry if that upsets you.

I'll take this to a private message. No reason to do this here

Yes they have cornbread there! Love the cornbread and fried chicken at Trails End! We always do HDDR, love the food there and if possible love the food at Trails End even more !

The meats about the same everywhere for shows and such. SOA and MBBBQ have chicken, ribs and pulled pork. They have different sides for the most part and desserts of course.

They share the same kitchen, so the food should be just about the same! We love the corn bread oh my goodness, I am hungry just thinking about it! Best fried chicken I've ever had also!

We had dinner at Trails End last week in March. Much the same as HDDR. Great food! Miss the lunch buffet of years gone by...off the menu for lunch wasn't bad though.

Glad to hear all these good reviews. We have not eaten there in over 8 years and hope to do so this coming May.
