We're going in December to WDW. On our last Saturday night (9 day trip!!), we were thinking about going to Ft Wilderness (likely staying at a Moderate or even Value) for dinner before finishing at MK. Please provide thoughts on the food and value as well as general convenience (or lack there of) of this plan. Thanks

What an awesome find this past year. We took the boat from MK and had a minimal wait. The food was excellent-the chili is the best I have ever had! The price I believe was 15.99 for an adult. We will definitely go again. Hope this helps!

We've never been to the Trails End for dinner, but we've eaten there for breakfast twice. WE LOVE IT HERE!!!! The food is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxing, homey, comforting. The service was very friendly...and best of all, the value is unbeatable. Trails End is probably the best value on property. I've heard that lunch and dinner are great too...we'll have to try them out sometime! We just enjoy a large breakfast before heading out to the park, so we usually do this one on our MK day, and then skip lunch and eat a big dinner.

Very good choice. You'll need to either park at the front or ride a bus to FW and then you get on a bus that will take you to the back area. Or, if you are coming from MK, you can ride the boat over and then ride the boat back to MK.

good food, good plan...we always eat there at least one meal ( more if hubby can wrangle it) and this time took the pre park opening am bus from our resort to mk...the bus was pretty empty & the driver was nice enough to take us to the contem. where we got on the contemp-fw boat to fw. after breakfast went to mk on the fw boat. one of the easiest resort to resort trips we took!

i believe the mk-fw boat starts running alittle later than the buses which was why we went to the contemp. instead

Go if at all possible. I've had wonderful experiences at Trails End and I know it's not just me because lots of people say it's great. If you go once, it'll be on your places to go every vacation!

We are staying at the Villas of Wilderness Lodge and took the direct boat over to Ft. Wilderness the other night for the Trails End dinner buffet. Fabulous and an exceptional value!! The food was excellent with a huge variety. I highly recommend this one!
