I will be traveling to Disney World in October and we are staying at Fort Wilderness Campground.

In order to save money, we will be doing the majority of our eating at the Camper, grilling and cooking ourselves.

We plan on going out at least once because it just would not feel like a vacation with at least once meal out.

I want to hear everyone's experiences with Trails End Buffet, good and Bad.

Never been here, but I've read alot of good reviews about this place for both breakfast & dinner. Never come across a bad review, so it must be all right.

Supposed to be a very good price & I distinctly remember people saying they had great fried chicken.

Thanks for such a quick response:goodvibes

I will have to keep digging for more reviews.

I tried the search feature but found nothing

Best place to ask this question is over on the camping board, I bet everyone over there just about has ate at trails end one time or another.

I like trails end the buffet is very good and affordable, their breakfast is good too. I don't think you will go wrong with a meal here. It's good down home food...fried chicken, mashed pototoes, green beans, cornbread...hey how can you go wrong.

:wizard: We had breafast there in August 06 after reading all the great reviews about it. We were extrememly disappointed with the service. We got there about 10:00 am, so the breakfast rush was over. The hostess who seated us had some attitude issues. It's a buffet so all we really needed from our waitress was 1 coffee and 1 tea.....never got the tea. :confused3 We asked another waitress who said we weren't her table so she couldn't help us. Our waitress was MIA for the rest of our meal. We asked 3 hostesses and got no help....the food wasn't replenished the entire time we were there, so I can't really comment on the food because there wasn't much of it. We would never go back again. Even if this was just an "off" day, why waste any meal in WDW. Not to mention, it took us awhile to get back into the Disney spirit. I think there are much better options for you!

We love Trails end buffet. I think it's one of the best kept secrets. I really did not notice any waitstaff issues because it's a buffet so all they had to do was refill drinks. That was done efficiently and very nicely. Old plates were removed quickly also. The food is good, always very hot (which is a pet peeve with me at buffets, I hate lukewarm food) and it never seems crowded. I think it's one of Disneys best kept secrets.

we ate there aug 07 very disappointed . not a very large selection for a buffet. the atmosphere was good food was lousy. sorry

This is one of our favorite little getaways for lunch. Often we spend the morning at MK then take the boat/ferry to FW for lunch at TE. It's nothing fancy. THey have their standard menu items everyday, and they have different specials each day. The standard items are -- make your own salad bar, pizza, fried chicken, chili. There are sandwiches, vegies, and a different daily item. Usually an apple cobbler for desert. (This is the lunch menu--as the dinner menu has bbq ribs and shrimp). For the price it's perfect. My husband and 14yo grandson love this place and could eat here everyday. I like that I can make my own salad and the chicken.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It's not a huge buffet, but the food there is so good that you will never leave hungry! The chicken, in particular, is excellent. :thumbsup2

We go for lunch most often, but dinner is also good and has a few more offerings.

We haven't made it to Trail's End the last few trips but in the past we thought it was a great buffet. It is not as elaborate or large as most of the other Disney buffets but has a good basic selection of food. And the food is our kind - not real fancy, just good. As someone else said the chicken is particularly good. There is also usually beef of some kind and ribs. The salad bar is good. I was always glad that they didn't have as many dessert choices as other WDW buffets - I didn't feel like I needed to save a few carbs for dessert. I could just eat some more potatoes!

We've been twice, both for lunch, and loved it. We love to ride the boat over to the Fort because we think it is beautiful there. We eat then mosey around.

Our friends are there this week with their pop-up and said they loved Trails End. They come home tomorrow and I can't wait to hear about their trip.

It's probably the best priced buffet on site at Disney.

I'll have to be one of the odd people who says I didn't like it there at all and I won't be going back. I'm very surprised by all the really good reviews, to be honest. I feel like I must have been at a different place!! :D The food was bleah, the service was bleah and slow, the atmosphere was bleah........ I was expecting way more and way better :D

That's too bad. I always try to let people know that the menu is very limited and this is not fine dining or anywhere close. I would compare it to a cracker barrel. We've taken our grandson (now 14) for years. Something about growing boys and AYCE pizza. My husband also loves this place.

We ate there last Friday and really enjoyed the meal. nothing fancy, but very good. The apple cobbler is amazing and so are the potatoes and fried chicken. All in all a good meal for a lower price than most WDW buffets.

THanks for everyone responses.

I think we are going to try it.

You are probably right...I should have asked over there.

I did get a lot of Great answers..

Thanks Everyone:thumbsup2

Very good! We went for dinner and I loved all the food, and that was the only restuarant I went to that had cherry coke, very impressed, lol :)

We're doing a Fort Wilderness segway tour that ends at Mickey's Backyard BBQ Pavilion. I've booked an adr at Trail's End for lunch, is it nearby i hope?

Trail's End has excellent food at a very cheap price (well, cheap as WDW restaurants go, anyway.) If it didn't take forever and a day to get there (if one isn't staying in Ft. Wilderness) I'd eat there every trip.

I am going to join the less populous camp, we: myself, my mom, DS16, DS14, DS13 hated it. We thought the service was terrible and the food even worse:sick: . I will never never never go back. With all the wonderful places to eat at WDW I can't believe this would be anyone's favorite. I am shocked :scared1: JMHO
