Flying into MCO July 3rd for a cruise departing July 4th. Debating whether to drive to the port the night we arrive, or the next morning which is the date of ship departure.

Will there be extra traffic and thus drive time if driving to the port on Independence Day? We would likely be leaving the MCO area around 9 AM or so if leaving on the 4th, but if there is expected to be traffic we prefer not to have to stress over that.

With the fourth on a Monday, most people wanting to be at the beach will probably book a long weekend and already be there by both the third and the fourth. Since you plan to go early in the mornin, you should be fine making the drive on the fourth. There isn’t anything extra special going on over there for the holiday, other than neighborhood fireworks displays, and those would be at night.

Personally, I would do it on the third just because I would want less to do on embarkation day, but from a traffic standpoint, either day should be fine.
