Trading with Jawas?

I thought I saw something on here that said that you could trade with Jawas. I'm not sure if it was an old Star Wars Weekends thread or if it is something that you can do any time.

Jawas can be found in Launch Bay in DHS. They may or may not be trading but are available for photos.

If they are trading, trade something that another guest would like to receive. A pin, small toy, beads, etc. are good items. Although Jawas do like shiny items, they can accept coins but they can't trade them out to others.

The Jawas we encountered a couple of times over Christmas "played" around and looked for things to trade but they were things like shoes, keys, and a wallet - so not something that would be a permanent trade!

Just traded yesterday. Launch Bay was crowded and when we were there only one Jawa was out. They were being swarmed and handlers were working hard at protecting them. They are small with low visibility. They did trade with a few but as others have posted it makes no sense for them to trade for something they can't trade back, while giving away something. One lady tried to trade string cheese ......... they can't take food. Another tried to trade a small Disney shopping bag - empty. We watched for awhile and they only actually traded with one person before they got to us.

We traded last week a pressed penny and he gave back a piece of a droid.

Awesome! Thanks everyone! My husband found a light up BB8 watch and wanted to take it to trade them, but we wanted to be sure that they are doing it.

We saw the Jawas a few times in Launch Bay earlier this month but had no idea that they were trading things. Sounds like a great way to pay it forward. Trade them something that a child might really enjoy.

Trading with the Jawas is so much fun. I traded them the rubber cover from a hand sanitizer.... The cute ones you get from Bath and Body Works. The Jawa in turn tried to trade it for a woman's baby! The baby was all for it and reaching for the Jawa. The mom, not so much. It was so stinking cute.

Another thing we did since we traded with them several different times was to give whatever we recieved I trade to a child nearby who had nothing to trade. Fun to pay it forward in a tiny way. The kids were thrilled as most of their parents had no idea you could trade so they didn't have anything to give them.

Just a warning - when my daughter was there two weeks ago, the Jawas were not around at all. She was sad as she brought lots of cool, shiny stuff to trade.

We were there two weeks ago and my sisters and their friend traded with a Jawa. I wasn't aware that they traded back items to other guests so I just took a couple of small, shiny items I found in my room (a tiny glittery bow ornament, a small craft mirror, a silver screw, etc.). The Jawa was happy to trade with them, and they all got droid parts. They definitely don't take any coins since another guest had his rejected. My sisters also tried to trade with the other Jawa that was there, but after checking all of his empty pockets, our binder clip was returned to us.

If you have some usable items, a toy car or a roll of tape, for example, definitely trade those instead! We saw some really cute interactions with both of those items!
