I'm hoping someone can help us decide this question.
We own at VWL, but we recently came into possession of another timeshare in Colorado (we sort of inherited it). We were originally told it was an RCI property, and since we don't plan to travel to Colorado much, we joined RCI so we could trade for other, closer, resorts.
Now the paperwork is done, and we find out that the property trades though -BOTH- RCI and Interval International... II being the organization that DVC trades through.
So suddenly, we're wondering if we could use this new timeshare to trade into DVC, and save the money we were going to spend on additional DVC points. In other words, if we cancelled our RCI membership, and joined II instead, would we stand a chance of being able to trade for DVC lodging. I know timeshare trading is based partly on demand, and I can't imagine there are any timeshare resorts anywhere that are in higher demand than DVC.. but what do you guys think? Has anybody been able to trade for DVC?
