This may be a silly question, but are kids allowed inside Trader Sams at any time? I live in Texas and legally I can bring my child into a bar with me. My husband, my in-laws, my 14 month old and I will be at DLR this weekend and I'd like to check the place out. We would do this in the afternoon or so, not at night when a more "party" atmosphere is present. I'm trying to determine if we can all go in one afternoon or if we'll have to check it out in shifts while the baby is with the other group. Thanks!

Yep, kids are welcome. You have to sit at a table as opposed to the bar, and they have to be out by I believe 8 PM.

Oh fantastic, thanks! We're not hard partiers by any means, but a drink in a fun atmosphere is always appreciated!

We just ate there Sunday evening outside. There were many other families. They brought DS4 dinner from the children's menu at Tangaroa Terrace. We enjoyed it!

Minors are allowed (Under 21) until 8 p.m inside the bar.

Eta about the bar.

I take the kids in for lunch and pineapple juice with glow cubes-they love it:thumbsup2 I believe it is 21 and over after 8pm though...

This is current information for Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar policies and procedures regarding children that are under 21 years of age:

After 8 p.m. children will be taken aboard one of the jungle cruise boats where they are whisked away to meet with Trader Sam at his village. Once there, they will be taught the finer points of head hunting (Not the corporate kind, unless it is just for their head) sphere sharpening, sphere throwing, poisoned dart blowing, beaded necklace making and with real mini shrunken heads too! Shrunken head making, where at the end of the class the students may keep one of their favorite works of art, suitable for hanging. Just one word of caution! It may be difficult to keep flies and other insects away too. Therefore it is highly recommended to only display said shrunken head in an out door open environment. The students will also learn how to barter, negotiate terms, basket weave, run with the wild boar (Rite of passage for those over age 10) textile making...in case one might end up on the receiving end of a sharp rhino horn. Hunting for touristas, I meant food, how to distinguish between edibles and non or worse... poisonous berries, fruit, fish, even water. And if that isn't enough to offer by our very kind and generous host and his village, Trader Sam will include his special stew recipe so moms and dads back at home may experience a real honest to goodness home cooked village style meal, made from hopefully freshly caught ingredients that make this stew truly unique. A word of advice.....this is a perfect recipe to make with that annoying in law or neighbor. Try not to cook with anyone that you might actually miss.

After all the fun and games are over, Trader Sam will have a complimentary photo taken of him with all of his lively students. A hand made frame, made by the local natives from past visitors, will be optional for a nominal fee of either fine finger foods, or $5 in USD.
