Tracfone Phone + 1 Yr Use + 570 Min= $99.45 ~ Nationwide service!

For those of you who are already using the Tracphones and like them, how many minutes (on average) do you think you use each month? I'm trying to see if it's feasible for me (if I switch I want it to be less than my Cingular bill).

It literally takes me about 2 to 3 months to use up 100 mins. I don't converse on the phone, just for emergencies and to find out where people are.

For those of you buying your phones in the store: look how the prices compare:

When you buy your Tracfone at the store, you can't get the great PACKAGE DEALS that come with free items like are offered on the Tracfone website. At the store, you have to buy each item separately, and you end up paying double for same items:

1st Phone~
NOKIA ONLINE PACKAGE
*PHONE: Nokia 1100..............included
*AIRTIME/60 min ..............included
Total.........................................$ 19.98

-vs-

COST TO BUY SAME THING IN STORE-
*PHONE: Nokia 1100....................$19.99
*AIRTIME/60 min....................$19.99
Total.........................................$ 39.98

========2nd Deal===========

MOTOROLA ONLINE PACKAGE:
*PHONE: Motorola V170..............included
*SERVICE: 1 year card..............included
*AIRTIME: 250 minutes ................included
Total .......................................$99.99

-vs-

COST TO BUY SAME THING IN STORE:
*PHONE: Motorola V170..........$49.99
*SERVICE: 1 year card...............$99.99
*AIRTIME/250 minutes..............$49.99
Total.........................................$199.97

If you buy online you can return the phone for 30 days, which takes care of the risk of getting a bad phone. I've had no problem with the 2 I've bought, so to get all that for HALF PRICE is too good for me to pass up.

When I ordered my phone, I bought the car charger from Tracfone for $10 - I priced it at $15 at Target. Not sure about the regular chargers though. It also scored me more money back from quickrewards.net

They have a one year warranty, too :thumbsup2

Same here. I just use it if I am running late or to find hubby or the kids.

This would be great but everytime I enter my zip code at tracfone it offers me ONE phone, the Nokia 2126 for $29.99. When I click on the deals you're quoting it asks for my zip and does the same thing. Our Walmart offers ONE phone that looks like this one and it's $19.99. I did notice the minute cards at Walmart are more expensive then the ones on the Tracfone site. The phones on the site are giving a code for a bonus 100 minutes with 1yr card purchase but not the free phone & 250 minutes offer on the homepage I clicked on. :confused3

Yes, I believe the offers are geared to each person's particular market. So I guess those packages are not available everywhere.

I just received an email with my 100 minutes for a referral and it DID extend my service time!

Someone had told me that referrals add only to your minutes, but don't give you the 60 days of extra service time. But that must have been wrong advice, because my "expire date" on my Tracfone moved up, too. Yay!

Thank you :lovestruc to the person who let me refer them!

I can really use this time to call home when we go to Disneyland in May!!!
(My regular cell phone will charge me roaming from there, and the hotels add a surcharge, but Tracfone just uses the regular 1 for 1 per-minute charge)

Dont forget when you order your phone or add air time you can go though ebates and get 5% back.

I suddenly need a new cell phone, and this sounds great for me!

Could someone send me a referral? Thanks!!!!!

PM'd You

Trixiezzz---just got my phone and activated it, also did the referral via the email so we should be getting our minutes in the next 48 hrs.

How long should it take to get the 100 minutes added to your phone once you use the referral link?? I activated my phone on Saturday and went through the referral link someone was kind enough to send me....just wondering how long it's supposed to take for the minutes to be added?

Thanks!
Sammy

Its usually overnight after 48 hours have past. Mine have all come though around 2 am.

Here's my timeline of getting this phone deal:

1) Wed, Mar 8 ~ Referral email sent to me (Thanks Trixiezzz!!! )
2) Wed, Mar 8 ~ Ordered phone using referral link.
3) Mon, Mar 13 ~ Rec'd PHONE via FedEx (wasn't home to sign, so I picked up from FedEx office)
4) Tue, Mar 14~ Activated phone online, got phone number, phone works! Shows I have 370 units.
(Seems to take along time to "boot up and log on"...is that normal?)
5) Tue, Mar 14 ~ Went back to 'Step 3' on referral email and entered phone # to get my free 100 minutes.
6) Still waiting ~ For my 100 free mins to come.

All in all I'm pretty happy. This phone is going to DD who just turned 12 last week. She's happy too! :)

It took a few days more than I expected to get the extra 100 minutes. I can't remember exactly what day but it was in the past day or two that I got my minutes for being referred by Trixie and for referring Sammy. Sammy thank you again :) You should both be getting an email soon if you haven't already. Sammy, it has a code in it that you need to enter into your phone.

Trixie - weird, it didn't extend my time! Lucky you! :)
