TR LINK POSTED! - 14 ADRs PLUS F & W!? Our 10th Anniversary Pig-Out! An Oct 2013 PTR

Closest Disney store is an hour away from me but it looks like I may take a mini road trip soon! :thumbsup2

Yeah there's only one here in CT and its about a 40 minute drive! We try to save all if our "mall errands" and do everything all at once when we go out there!

Ali
Holly cow how did this get to two pages before I found it, I am totally slacking:rolleyes2. Congradulations on the upcoming trip and boo to job induced stress I deffinitly know how that feels, I have just been hired on fulltime at the place I am working in April before that for two years and four months I worked the same job just as a contractor so no benefits just a paycheck and a known end date, I got hired on fulltime with only four hrs left on my contract :rolleyes2 but deffinitly keep looking and you will find something better.

Thank you so much for joining me again!

Ugh! FOUR HOURS!? That's so horrible for them to make you wait all that time! At least it was worth it in the end! Next week will mark one year at this job for me and I can't believe I actually did it! I told myself I wanted to at least make it one year so I guess I can be proud of myself for that!

Thanks for the welcome, and I'm glad you jsut started...I'm too far behind on everything.

I finally put link to my TR in my signature.

Old Navy has some great new Disney t-shirts...check them out.

I got the email from Old Navy today but I didn't look at the shirts! I just bought another new pair of sandals for Disney (work, if Lumar asks! :rotfl2: ) so I gotta wait a while before I buy anything else!

I'm going over to your TR right now!!

So today marks one month, officially, that I turned in my vacation request. Still haven't gotten it back with an approval :rolleyes2 At first it was really irritating me...but now, it's whatever. They know I'm going and they told me they were going to approve it...so now they're either just sitting on it for no reason, or they were irresponsible and lost it. Either way, I just don't care anymore! :thumbsup2

In much better news, I bought a new pair sandals for our trip! They finally went on clearance, with an additional 25% off, PLUS I had a $5 coupon! :cool1: They should be here in a day or two and then I can share pictures!

Do any of you guys watch Once Upon A Time?? We started watching it last week...we cancelled our pricey cable package and watched the entire first season on Netflix in four days! We're now about half way through the second season and love it!

Joining in!

My husband and I will be staying at BWV in a garden view room Oct 21-25. Maybe we'll run into each other! BWV is my favorite hotel. We stayed there for almost 2 weeks on our honeymoon and it was heaven. The pool is great, even though the clown is super creepy!

I recently lost my job and I totally understand what you were saying about zero stress. I have never been so relaxed in my life. The house is SO clean and I get to cook and watch tv and hang out with my friends all day. I can leisurely grocery shop instead of running through at full speed throwing items in the cart in between shifts at work. Love it! Reality is going to slap me in the face after vacation and I have to go back to work full time. Possible before then, if I can find a job. Good luck with your current job situation! Sounds like a pain. Hopefully they approve your vacation time soon and quit making you stress it. If only we got paid to be on the DISboards right?

Trust me, I don't wish it on ANYBODY but it's so nice to meet people understand the job stress thing! My sister graduated law school two years ago and can't find a job so all she ever says to me is "be thankful you have one." I understand how difficult it is out there but sometimes I just want someone to commiserate with me! Isn't that awful!? If we could afford it, I would totally be a house wife!

I'm so nervous about staying at BWV! It's never been on my list of "must stay" resorts and the clown slide is omega creepy! But I'm looking forward to being on the boardwalk and being so close to Epcot! I want to love it, I'm just not 100% sold yet!

I'm finally here!!! My first time signing on to the DIS in over a week, which is a long time for me lol! :rotfl2:

I'm jealous you're staying at the Boardwalk AND AKV in one trip! BW is one of my dream resorts, and AKV is just amazing!!!

That Cheshire Cat shirt is the best!!! I have to get it before they sell out! I also need to take a trip to Old Navy this weekend and buy some of those Mickey shirts they just got, they're adorable! :cool1:

Blah, job stuff. I'll save that for texting, I don't want to get started on that here too! :rotfl2:

Yay for new sandals.

Boo for idiots at the office.

Never have seen Once Upon a Time, but I've heard great things about it.

I'm so excited for this trip but after hearing about how much you and Kathy both loved AKV, I'm so afraid I'm gonna cry my little eyeballs out when we check out! I'm not going to want to leave, I know it and I feel like BWV won't be given a fair chance just because it follows AKV!

I haven't even worn either of those shirts yet! I'm saving them for Disney! My luck, I'll wear them here and ruin them some how!

I can't wait for my sandals to come in! I just complained to Lumar that I don't have any money with which to wash laundry but then he reminded me I bought new sandals.... oops! :lmao:

Kathy, if you only knew! "I'm surrounded by idiots" at that place! :rotfl2:

OUaT is a great show! Check it out if you find yourself with nothing to watch! It's definitely worth it!

Finally back with an actual update! Here's our plans for the first few days, so far.

Arrival Day!
Our arrival day is Sunday, Oct 13. Our flight is scheduled to leave CT at 8am, and put us in Orlando nice and early, just around 11am. We probably won't get to AKL until around 12:30/1pm depending on how long it takes us to unload the plane, get to the DME counter, wait for a bus, and then actually drive to the resort. I was originally planning to do lunch at Boma, but since there is still a chance our flight times will change (again - we were originally supposed to leave CT at 7am....), plus travel time, etc, I didn't want to risk missing a reservation.

So we'll probably go and check in and then hit the pool for a little while!

After which, we'll head to DTD for dinner:

(Courtesy of bongoscubancafe.com)

We've never eaten there before and wanted to try a new place so we'll be having dinner there at 6:30pm.

After dinner, we'll probably pretend we're going to go back to AKV to get some sleep since we're exhausted...but I'm sure we'll stop in at least one store while we're in the area!

Day 1

Our first park (for the first time ever!) will be....

Except it will be daytime ;)

We normally start our trips with Epcot but this year, we start with AK!

I want to try and get to the park for rope drop so we can spend a few hours there before heading to.....

Except...again....it will be daytime (I'm sorry I like night time pics better! )

The sole purpose of going to Epcot on this fine afternoon, will be for another First Time Ever event. Lunch.... here:

Yes, it's true. We've never eaten at Le Cellier before. We tried to, in 2005. Before we knew about ADRs. And the lady at the check in desk had to bite her tongue to keep from laughing in my face when I asked if there was an availability. :sad2: Live and learn, kids. Live and learn.

After our lunch, I'm sure we'll walk around Epcot for a while, but then we're going to take full advantage of our park hoppers and PM EMH, by going here for a while:

And this is actually accurate this time, because it will actually be dark...or close to it! :thumbsup2

Obviously we will not be going on TSMM, but we may catch Fantasmic depending on what time we get there!

Up next: More plans!

Ali, love your arrival day plans and first day plans.

I think you are smart not to book lunch at Boma because you never know if the plane is delayed, traffic on the way, etc.

I can't believe you have never been to LeCellier; I'll be interested to hear what you think.

Yeah, we booked dinner a few years ago for a time slot within a couple of hours of our flight arrival and ended up being an hour late. I know that most places will still take you, but that's not the point. I just can't do that to people, it screws up their whole schedule and I know it! I figure we'll grab CS lunch once we get to AKV!

I am not a huge fan of steak... Lumar, on the other hand, would probably eat it every day. This one is more for him than me, but it gets so much love around here that I figure, what the heck!

Wow that's a crazy first day in the parks, you're doing things the way I usually do them! 3 parks in one day, no big deal!!

AHHHH Le Cellier! My true love! I can't wait to hear how much you love it! :lovestruc And if you don't, well, we just can't be friends anymore!:rotfl2:

We will probably be exhausted the next morning but Disney Tired is the best kind of tired! You have me so excited to try Le Cellier! And I'm sure we'll love it! Haha!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Day 2

Our second official Disney Day will begin with....

Yes, we're going back to DHS, even though we were just there the night before. Why? Just because, really. We probably won't be there for very long on Monday night and will most likely ONLY get to see Fantasmic. So we'll start our second day by doing some actual rides! ToT, RnRC, TSMM...plus the Art Of Animation Drawing Class.

After a few hours, maybe around 1pm or so, we'll head on over to the Beach Club for lunch:

(Courtesy of diswhiz.com)

Never been there before and dying to give it a try! :thumbsup2

After lunch, we may head back to DHS or walk over to Epcot, since we'll be in the area, but it will probably depend on the time because we have dinner plans for 6:30:

(Courtesy of attractionsmagazine.com)

We were going to try Jiko back in 2010 and Lumar got sick so we ended up canceling the reservation the day before. And since we'll be staying at AKL, I wanted to try and take advantage of the restaurants on property...but the menu at Sanaa appeals to me more than the menu at Jiko, and we have plans for a Signature Restaurant later in the week, so we opted to go for Sanaa instead.

Although I may try to push the time back an hour or so, to give us more time to go back to a park, and more time to digest our lunch. There aren't any scheduled PM EMH this day so after dinner, we'll probably wander around the resort a little bit before heading back to the room for sleep.

Day 3

Our third day will be Wednesday and we'll be heading out early for another new eating experience (our 5th new place and only our 3rd official day!):

(Courtesy of mouseplanet.com)

I hear great things about the breakfast at Tusker House so I'm really looking forward to this one! We'll spend the day at AK and then hop over to....

Since our only planned meal this day is breakfast, I'm hoping to get dinner from some F & W booths! We'll probably grab lunch at AK since I plan to stay there until they close....but we'll see! It's so nice knowing that we have Park Hoppers and we can basically do whatever we want, depending on how we feel at the time! :thumbsup2

Up next, Day 4 and 5!

Joining in! First of all, congratulations on 10 years! That really is a great life milestone.

I stayed at AKL in 2011 and it really was amazing. It wasn't my dream resort (I'm a GF gal lol) but I still had high expectations and it surpassed all of them. So I am sure that you are going to love it!

Also, I could just give you a hug about your job situation. I know those feelings all too well and it really makes me sick to see how many people are going through this awful situation. I lost my job a year ago and had a really tough time finding a new job and am now working jobs that I'm really not crazy about. I hope that you are able to find something you love really soon.

Looking forward to reading more about your trip!

10 years is a long time but it doesn't feel like that long, which is good! We've been through a lot together, that's for sure!

I'm so excited about AKL! I've wanted to stay there for forever and I can't believe I'm finally getting the chance!

I hate this job thing! I hate that I feel so miserable all the time, and I hate that so many people, my own sister included, are struggling to find a job and here I'm wishing I'd get fired from mine! It's my own fault though.... I knew I didn't want to go back to a call center and I applied anyway because it was easy. I knew I'd get hired and I'd already know the basics of the job so I went for it, rather than try to learn something new. I'm paying for my laziness, that's for sure! I applied for two jobs yesterday so here's hoping!!

Thanks again for joining in!

Ali, I love the plans for these two days. You are going to LOVE Beaches & Cream, and Tusker House has become a new favorite of ours (we are eating there again next month). Definitely spend some time touring AKL...it is stunning.

I can't wait to just take my time walking around AKL! I did it at CSR in 2010 and it's one of my favorite memories!

Hoping to get to an update today! As usual, my life has been crazy the last two weeks!

Trust me, I know what you mean about life being crazy. We've had five weddings (including our son's), a funeral, my mother receiving news that my father's pension company is bankrupt and NOT being able to send her checks anymore and figuring out how she is going to live on $980 a month less when she can't manage now, etc. And I leave next week.

I so wanted to get my TR done before I go and still hope too. My PTR is moving, but not as quickly as it should. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
