Day 4
We were up at 7:00 for the Extra Magic Hours at AK, and opted to grab a doughnut from our stash rather than take time for breakfast. We were "greeted" at the door by our Magical Express Itinerary. Who else feels a little sick to their stomach when they see that little piece of paper??

To top it off, they had scheduled the wrong flight! Oh well, DM will take care of it later because these commandos cannot miss any precious time at AK! But first, it was time to get serious with Mousekeeping. We left a special tip envelope, and I wrote "can we have a towel animal please?" in English and broken Spanish. If that doesn't do the trick, we just aren't meant to have a towel animal.
Arrived at the park at 8:10 which wasn't too bad except for STUPID PEOPLE who can't figure out how to use the finger machines. ***warning..vent to follow*** I saw one lady twisting her hand around backwards to get her
thumb on the pad.

It is not rocket science people! Here's the attitude I noticed..."oh wow, I'm somebody important and special. Disney needs to scan my extraordinary finger so I'd better take the time to do it right! oh! silly me...I'm holding up the line b/c I couldn't decide which finger to put on the pad. Come here little Johnny and put your finger on the pad. Here let big sister pick you up since you can't reach...oh dear, she dropped you...let's try again."
just throw your finger on the pad and get your butt through the turnstyle!!!
Whew...rant over, although my bloodpressure is elevated. Is it just me? I have never taken more than 5 seconds to get into the park with either the old or new finger systems. I'm sure there were no Disers in the line that day.
Ok, so after waiting 15 mintues for what should have been a 5 minute wait at most, we were in! We made a b-line for EE and got fast passes, then got in the stand-by line. Took gobs of pictures of the theming because I love it so much and see something new every time. For instance..
The CMs actually put fresh fruit out there every day! How authentic can you get? We only waited about 10 minutes in line and we were on our way to see the Yeti! This was DH's first time to ride EE and he gave it an A+, although RnR is still his favorite. After EE we walked right into Dinosaur. I mean the little video with Clair Huxtable

was even half over by the time we got into the room!

Great time, but oh no!!! I left my sunglasses in our time rover! A CM at the photo station was able to retrieve them for me by figuring out which rover we were in based on our picture. Whole process took 15 mintues tops. Gotta love Disney efficiency! Had this been 6 Flags I could have kissed those babies goodbye. Needless to say, he received a CM appreciation card.
After the sunglasses crisis had subsided, Mom and I trotted off to the Festival of the Lion King (our FAVE show) while DH went off in search of a snack for himself. I think the show gets better every time I see it...I'm still in awe of how the fire dancer balances that flaming pole on his feet!

After the show we all meet up for It's Tough to be a Bug. We walked right in with no wait and still had time to ride EE again with our fast passes before lunch.
Flame Tree BBQ is one of my favorite places to eat in WDW and by far my favorite counter service. There is nothing like winding back into thier water-side pavilion with your tasty entree for some R&R. We usually get to see Mickey and Minnie on their explorer boat, but not this time. The screams coming from EE were entertainment enough though. Another thing I love about the pavilion is the hungry (well fat anyway) ducks who will eat right out of your hand. They are so spoiled! If you put your corn on the cob on the ground for them, they are too lazy to pick off the kernals. However, they will take it right out of your hand if you will pull in off the cob for them.
We decided at this point to make our way back to FW for a really long nap since we were going to have a late night at
MNSSHP. We fast passed EE one more time so we could spread a little pixie dust to 3 lucky guest entering the park as we were exiting.

Mom found some teenagers who were very happy to take the fast passes! We also stopped in Discovery Island to look at all the animals most people rush past. There are actually 2 birds in this picture nestling each other.
We exited the park and walked right on to a FW bus. It was nice not to have to wait for it, and to top it off we didn't have to make a stop at Wilderness Lodge! And what was waiting for us upon our arrival?? You guessed it!!

After I finished jumping up and down with excitement, I just basked in the elephant's glory for a few mintues.

Our dream had finally come to fruition! Granted, we had to beg for it...but I'll take it!!!
Up next... MNSSHP!
