TR for 5/24-5/30 at the POP! Lots of pictures!!

I did online check-in today, which means.... Only 10 days til Disney!!!!

So I am super excited!! I pre-bought the PhotoPass CD a couple days ago. I figured since it's just the two of us, it'll be tough to get pictures of us together otherwise. I'm going to get my money's worth though and track down every PP CM I can find!

So I don't know what I need to do to get people to read this and respond :confused3 Maybe pics of my trip from 2007 or pics of my cute puppy?!

So I figured I would add a couple pictures to liven up this thread! This first pic is on the Dinosaur ride...I don't normally buy these pictures, but our faces our priceless. See for yourself!!

Here is my puppy, Max, after his surgery...he was sad.

Hi Missy!:wave2: I followed you over from LL's PTR. Congrats on your graduation and pixiedust: for your BF to propose to you.

Your plans look really good. We want to try Flame Tree BBQ when we're at AK also. Only my youngest DD doesn't like BBQ so she may eat elsewhere.:rotfl:

Maybe we'll see you around the parks.

Thanks for coming over and the congrats and pixie dust!! You ladies must be getting super excited for your trip! I can't believe your daughter doesn't like BBQ, I've never heard such a thing! Maybe she would like the CS at Yak & Yeti?? If you see me, be sure to say hi!

ONE WEEK TIL DISNEY...WHOOOO!!!

So I think I may be catching on to what people like to see in these things...haha! So here are a couple pictures of stuff I bought for the trip.

13b3_1.jpg

As I mentioned earlier, I'm super excited to pick a few pearls in EPCOT! So I found these cute cages on ebay. Only $3.50/each so I bought three...one for my little sister in my sorority, one for my niece for her birthday, and one for me in case I don't find another setting I like at a good price in EPCOT. I didn't think they were supposed to come with chains, but the lady sent my chains too. They're way nicer than I expected for the price!

Bag.jpg

This is the bag I bought from the Disney shopping website. I searched all over before buying a bag, but didn't really find anything else I liked more. I wanted something to go over my shoulder and with easy access to at least one pocket to put my cards in. I must say, I was a little dissapointed with the personalization though...I thought the mickey head would be a patch or embroidered and it was actually like a plasticy iron on. Bummer. I hope it will be comfy to wear in the park though...I'll be sure to comment on it in my trip report.

DBF's mom is flying in on Monday, so I don't know how much I'll be on here after that, but you can count on an awesome trip report with lots of food porn in two weeks!!

Just thought I would post a picture of the shirt I bought on clearance at Wal-mart today. I started packing yesterday, and I had thought I had what I wanted to wear each day all figured out...then I realized I forgot about the day we arrive and the day we leave! So shirt shopping I went...
Thumpershirt.jpg

Definitely a cute shirt for only $5 :)

Being as lazy as I am, I went on Wal-mart's website to find a picture of the shirt rather than taking my own and came across these:
thumperpants.jpg

They were $9, so I ordered them. I think it will be a super comfy outfit to wear on the flight home (8:30 a.m. and after EMH at MK...I will def. be sleeping on that flight!!). Only one problem: ETA 5/21-5/27...I hope they get here either 5/21 or 5/22!! I thought about getting it shipped to the POP but didn't know how that would work  If you have some extra pixie dust, send it my way!

Ok so there is something I must tell you all (by you all, I mean the three people who read this ), I have a serious addiction...to the DIS!! Right now, I should be curled up on my couch with a can of Mountain Dew (I don't drink coffee) and my note cards, but let's face it...Disney talk is waaaaaaay more exciting than instrumental analysis! I swear though, two more pictures then I'm done for the night!

This is me and my great aunt Tootsie (that's a nickname btw...one she's had forever. Not sure why though?!) with Piglet! I  Piglet cause he is small like me, but is big on the inside!!
001-1.jpg

This next picture makes me laugh...I love my mom, but she's a crazy woman! We see these two birds "making out" in AK and decide to take a picture. She thinks it's cool to play with all of these borders she found on some website, and this is the result:

Day 3- EPCOT

The plan is to spend the morning in future world trying to get as many of the following rides done: Mission: SPACE, Test Track, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience, Soarin, and I'm debating on Ellen's Energy Adventure. I know it's a looong ride, so I don't want to get on it unless we're basically out of stuff to do or someone tells me I should!

Then around 12-1, we'll head over to Mexico for some lunch (I'd be happy with just a churro and a margarita, but I should probably get food!!). Then we'll work our way around the World Showcase.

So I've heard a lot about drinking around the world, and this is my first time at Disney since turning 21...so where should I go and what should I get?!

Has anyone done the pick a pearl thing in Japan? I was so excited when I heard about it and I have to do it!! Should I try to get there early, or does it not really matter?

At 7 p.m. we have reservations at the Garden Grill. I've read mixed reviews about it, but my main reason for chosing it was the fried catfish. Casey is from Arkansas and loves fried catfish (he also loves Chip & Dale)...so I hope it's good!

Then IllumiNations, then spending EMH doing anything we didn't do or taking a nice romantic stroll around the World Showcase. :)

Only 9 days until I can do on-line check-in!!!

Your plans sound fun!

Ellen's is very relaxing & if it's hot out, GO for it! When it feels like 99 degrees outside, going inside to relax & watch Ellen is wonderful. It's a cute movie & ride all in one.

I think Garden Grill is one of the nicest character meals! It is good food, wonderful atmosphere & the characters are awesome - low key yet engaging. We've gotten some of our best pics here.

Drinking around the World, you've got the right idea w/ the margaritas (and you can't go wrong w/ a churro) - again, if it's hot, you can duck inside the Mexico pavilion and the boat ride is adorable.

I've only tried the beer in a few countries - but the slushies by France are really good. Yum!

I'm excited about trying Pop for the first time!

Have FUN!!!! :goodvibes

Yay! Thanks for your input! I feel better about the Garden Grill now, I thought about changing it, but I'm glad I didn't. Slushies in France sounds awesome!! I loved the Pop, it's a lot of fun! You must be getting super excited for your trip too!!

Day 5- Relax Day

So DBF insisted we relax a little while at Disney, so this is his day. We have tickets to the 9:30 showing of Hoop-Dee-Doo (I'm so excited for this!!), and nothing else "planned" though I of course have lots of ideas.

DisneyMissy - Please let me know how you liked the 9:30 p.m. show! I'm considering this for our trip in October since its the only show that you can sit in Category 1 on the DDP.

Hi there! I am SOOO sorry that I haven't been posting. I think you changed the title of your report and I couldn't find you anymore. I honestly started thinking that you had deleted your PTR somehow. I finally searched by my old posts and found you.

And now you are gone on your trip. I hope you are having a wonderful time. Please be sure to update us on how it went.

It was a lot of fun! DBF said it was his favorite meal of the trip. We had 8 a.m. ADRs the next morning which was tough, but other than that it was great!

Haha it's okay!! We had lots of fun! I'll be working on pictures today and will hopefully start my TR tomorrow!!

Here I am, clearly very excited to be at the airport

Us on our way:
DSC01569.jpg

We arrived in Orlando around noon and grabbed some food from McDonalds (I didn't think a picture of this was needed, so there isn't one). At this point we had no idea where we were going, so I pulled out the handy dandy map provided by Disney's Magical Express and we were on our way. We waited in line for about 10 minutes before boarding the ME. The ride wasn't too long and they played a nice little video which very much increased my excitement level. Stop 1 was at CBR, then on to the POP!!
DSC01582.jpg

Check-in went smoothly. There was no one waiting in the on-line check in line, so 5 minutes after we arrived (about 1:45 pm) we were off to find our room. We were in the 80s building, almost as far from Classic Hall as possible, but still not too far. The view from our room was not photo worthy...trees and housekeepings gathering spot at 7 a.m. (they were very loud). Here are a few pics of our digs:

We requested a king bed and got it:

After checking the place out, I went for a swim while Casey took a short nap. He came down to the pool around 3:15 and informed me that our luggage had not yet arrived, not a huge deal at this point though it would have been nice to have our sunscreen. We stayed at the pool another 30 minutes or so then went back to the room, because I felt like I was getting a sun burn. When we got back to our room, still no luggage. Still no biggie...we watched a little tv and waited...and waited...and waited.

All of the ME documents say it could take up to three hours to receive your luggage. Does this mean three hours from the time the plane arrives or three hours from the time we check in?? So we call and ask..the answer "it usually takes about 3-5 hours from check-in." :scared1: There goes all of my plans. It's now about 5 o'clock so we call and ask about our luggage and they tell us it is at the POP and being processed. I finally suck it up and take a shower with the hotel soap and shampoo with the hope that our luggage would arrive in the mean time.

It is now 5:45 and still no luggage. While I was in the shower it began to rain, and when we called luggage assistance this time, they tell us they don't deliver in the rain! GAH!!! Why didn't they say that 45 minutes ago?! I would have walked down there and got my own gosh darn luggage! We finally decide to make the treck in the pouring rain to the luggage area so I can atleast put on some deoderant, Casey can change his shoes, and we can grab our ponchos. Let's just say I won't be using this "service" ever again.

Now on a more positive note...it was time for dinner. The meatball sub it was for Casey, which he said was nothing special...just a meatball sub.
DSC01589.jpg

And for me...the chicken penne alfredo...YUMMM! I loved this meal back in 2007 and I loved it again this time.
DSC01590.jpg

As you can see, I almost forgot to take a picture!!

Then on to Disney Hollywood Studios we went. We went on The Great Movie Ride and the Secrets of Disney Animation before heading over to Fantasmic. I was very afraid the show would be cancelled, but it wasn't and we enjoyed it very much. I'm not going to post pictures, because I don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone! The park closing times every day was an hour later than what it said online so DHS was open til 10 that night. We decided to check the wait for TOT...only 10 minutes!! Boy oh boy, Casey looooooved this ride! He said it was way more than what he expected :woohoo:

We took a few night time photos then went back to the hotel.

We finally had luggage when we got back to our room! :worship:
Up next: Day 2: A rhino on our trail...aka Animal Kingdom!

It was a lot of fun! DBF said it was his favorite meal of the trip. We had 8 a.m. ADRs the next morning which was tough, but other than that it was great!

Thanks! I can't make up my mind. I would love to see it, but am trying to decide between it and California Grille (it would be our first time there, too). Two totally different experiences, I know. We'll be eating at WCC one night so we'll have a very similar menu there, but not the entertainment. On the other hand, DS loves sushi and I hear CG's is really good. I'm also not sure about two nights out 'til midnight as we will be doing MNSSHP for the first time this trip. Decisions . . . decisions . . .:confused3

BTW, I enjoyed your first installment of your trip report and looking forward to more (especially wondering if he proposed)!

Don't you hate having all of those options?! It's so tough to pick certain meals. I've never done WCC or CG before, so I'm not much help there. I will probably never try CG though, because I hate seafood. Two late nights would be tough, but the kids that were there at the 9:30 show had no trouble staying awake. We had a table of 5 young girls (probably around 8 years old) right next to us and they were laughing the whole time. If you don't make it this time, I would make it a must do on your next trip.

Unfortunately there was no engagement :sad1: You would have heard already...I'm not good with surprises! I was little dissapointed, but it's hard to be sad when you're in Disney. Let's just hope it means he has something really good up his sleeve!!

So I just spent 30 minutes working on my post for day 2, and when I went to post it it didn't work. Now it's all gone :sad2:

So it seems I can only stay on for so long before I get logged out. So I'm going to try this again, but I'm going to do it in two installments. Here goes...

Day 2 started bright and early as do most of my days at Disney. Mainly because I am too excited to sleep! I packed some mini muffins and coffee cakes for breakfast so we wouldn't have to waste time in the morning eating, so we had our quick breakfast and were at AK by 8:30. Our first stop was at guest relations to get buttons :) A 1st visit button for Casey and an I'm Celebrating button for me! Five minutes later we were in the park waiting for rope drop. Fifteen minutes later there was a cute rope drop ceremony (see picture below) and we were in!!
DSC01630.jpg

First stop of the day was at Kilimanjaro Safaris. They say no two rides on the Kilimanjaro Safari are ever the same, and I can assure no ride will ever be like this one! Half way through our journey, we came across a rhino crossing the road. Instead of continuing to cross the road, the rhino decided he would like to join us on our journey. For a good few minutes we followed Mr. Rhino along the trail until he finally decided he was tired of us. Here is Mr. Rhino:
DSC01671.jpg

He was so close I could have touched him!!

After this amazing journey, we went over to EE to get our fastpass. The return time, however, was between 11 and 12 and we had an ADR at 11. We decided to get our FP for Kali River Rapids instead. We then killed some time walking the Pangini Exploration Trail before lunch, where we saw this guy:
DSC01700.jpg

Then it was time for lunch at the Yak & Yeti!! I was very much looking forward to this ADR, because all of the pictures looked sooo good! I got the sweet and sour chicken (left) and Casey got the honey chicken (right), but we shared!
DSC01733.jpg

Both meals were good, but nothing spectacular. The dessert was super yummy however!! We each got the sorbet trio: raspberry (minus the coconut), lemon, and mango sorbet.
DSC01734.jpg

Casey's favorite was the lemon and mine was the mango. All three were great though.
Our waiter was very nice and speedy. We each got soda refills without having to ask.
We probably won't return on our next trip, just because we like trying new places, but I was pleased with the meal. They do however have a counter service area that I will most likely try on our next visit.

Here is us outisde the restaurant. The people taking the picture didn't do a great job of getting the restaurant in the picture, but oh well.
DSC01727.jpg

Part two will be up here once I'm done with :laundy:

After lunch we went to use our FP for KRR only to learn that that ride was not running, but that we could come back later and use our FP. So on to EE to get a FP we went. After getting our FP for EE we stood in line for about 40 minutes to go on Dinosaur. I usually don't wait that long for a ride, but we weren't really in any hurry. After Dinosaur we did Maharajah Jungle Trek, Festival of the Lion King, and watched Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade. KRR was operating once again so we did that. We didn't get too wet, which I was happy about...though it didn't make a huge difference thanks to what happened 15 minutes later. As we were standing in line waiting for our FP time for EE, the skies became very dark. Right as we were getting into our seats, the skies opened and it POURED! Our ride on EE was an epic failure :sad1: It was raining so hard, we had to keep our eyes closed the entire time, which totally takes away from the ride. After getting off the ride, I looked as though I just got out of the pool.
DSC01754.jpg

I didn't mind so much, because I have been on the ride before. I was a little dissapointed though, because it was Casey's first time riding it. Oh well...just another reason to go back! We waited out the storm in the EE gift shop then went to Flame Tree BBQ to grab some dinner. Casey and I both had the pulled pork sandwiches, which came with beans. Since we were on the meal plan we also got dessert (chocolate cake). Casey wanted some fries, so we paid OOP for them.
DSC01756.jpg

DSC01757.jpg

DSC01758.jpg

The sandwich was very yummy, Casey said the beans were pretty good, and the fries of course were great! I'm not a big fan of chocolate cake, so I only had a few bites of it. I would not recommend Flame Tree to anyone who is afraid of ducks however. There were a bunch of them trying to get food...one even bit Casey's butt!!! :rotfl2:

After dinner, Casey was ready to get back to the hotel, but I was not leaving without my photopass picture holding baby Simba, so here it is:
Simba.jpg

Notice how wet my shirt still was!

So that was our day at Animal Kingdom. There were a few things that I wanted to do but didn't, but it's okay...there's always next time!! We went back to the hotel and spent some time in the pool and the remainder of the night watching the Lakers game.

Up next: Day 3, Part 1: Flowers and the Future (World, that is)
