TR - Final Trip as a Family of 4! May 4-8 2009 *Complete!* Lots of Pics!

Thanks again for a great trip report. I particularly like the family photo with Stitch. You can see the baby bump so it really is a "family photo" with all 5 of you (plus stitch). :goodvibes

Great pictures! Your girls have such gorgeous eyes! You are all a beautiful family!

How did the Mickey shampoo, etc. bottles I sent you a while back go over with the girls? Did they like them?

About the bacon - I have noticed that DLR does an especially fantastic job with their fruit and their bacon! The bacon is some of the best I have ever had, and I never eat it at home. I only eat it at DLR, and when I am at Goofy's, I load up on crazy quantities of bacon! I am surprised I am not caked in grease when I leave there! The fruit is some of the freshest and most delicious I have ever had too. I imagine it is the same magic bacon and fruit at Lilo and Stitch too!

About PhotoPass - I have found that DL seems to have fewer PP photographers around than DCA does in general, BUT since all the construction began last year in DCA and the bay was drained, that scared away some of the PP photographers who used to lurk around that area, so now there are even fewer of them. The problem is, from what one disgruntled PP person was saying as he tried to get a good vantage point outside of IASW Holiday last December to take our photos, the photographers "can't just go anywhere" they want in the parks and take pictures. Their locations have to be assigned/designated/approved by Disney. Otherwise, if we didn't see any on the bridge over at Paradise Pier, we could just find one at any location around DCA and take photos wherever we wanted, which would be cool, and same thing at DL. Just get them to snap away wherever you want to go. But we can't do that. We actually found one photographer on Main Street last year who was new to that spot, so she had no clue what kinds of pictures to take - wacky ones, magic shots or otherwise. She didn't know exactly where to position us to get the best backdrop. This was her inaugural Main Street session. They just told her to go there and take pictures, and she couldn't move around much. She had to stay in place. But I make sure the price of the CD will be justified because I just keep going back to the same spots over and over on different days and having more photos taken, just to be sure I get some good ones in the bunch. And yes, a lot of times, for some reason, the PP photographers will not tell you what effects/magic shots they have. Not all of them can do Hook or the Haunted Mansion ghosts, but the ones who can do the 'Soarin' picture, for example, in front of the Golden Gate Bridge in DCA, don't always say they can do that shot, nor do they always mention that they can have you sit on a bench with Mickey, Minnie or Stitch. Not sure why they keep quiet about it.:confused3 Last December, with the help of a photographer who recognized us from having so many PP pictures taken the previous day over at Grizzly Peak, he tipped us off to where we could find the PP guy who took the 'Stitch popping out of the Christmas present' effects picture in DCA, which we luckily got, but no one else seemed to be having it done - because the photographers didn't tell them they COULD do it!!!

Thank you! The shampoo bottles were great! They were plenty big enough to hold enough shampoo/conditioner/lotion for all of us for the week AND they were so cute to boot! I'm using them for all my trips from now on, not just Disney but any trip, lol

The bacon was great. I LOVE bacon, especially the crispy kind and the PCH Grill did not disappoint. The fruit was cold and fresh, it was all really really good. We never go out for breakfast at home so it was a special occasion all the way around for us.

Just finished your trip report! It was soo good. Lots of cute pictures and great tips too. I would write everything down that I remember, but that would take too long and I'm tired, so sorry about that. I do feel that I should mention something that is an extremely hot topic to me...

I agree with Sherry E about the photopass - the PP people are sometime a little clueless. I've met a few who just look at me like, "How did you know what a magic shot was?" and a few who are like, "Oh good, old pros!" I guess it really depends on the PP that you get. I know one in the park that I really like and we'll try and find him. But they do have to be careful about where they are and what they are doing at any time. They do have to report to people and I'm sure that they have regulations and rules to follow. This must take some of the magic out of their attitudes sometimes :rotfl2: Sometimes I will take a picture in front of the same spot at the same time each day. And 9 times out of 10, there is one photographer who just simply stands out and those particular pictures are the best of the entire bunch. They're always the nicest and offer the most shots. Of course, no one has time to just take PP pictures all day, so rarely does anyone get that many! On our last trip I never saw a PP with the characters which really made me sad. None of our PP pics have characters. :confused3 Glad you got some of those. We did chat with one PP photographer and he said that if you just ask, the photographers will do the shot for you. Maybe they have to be allowed or assigned to do it? But I agree, the full price for the CD is a little nuts. Maybe if it was a once in a lifetime trip with a bunch of people, ect. But the illegal photoshares were a great way to get pics for less, only way I would ever do it. BTW, I joined before they were illegal too, so I'm on the same boat with you. I know they're illegal now and no more budget CD for this girl. :thumbsup2

I think we got about 5 "good" pictures from PhotoPass and 2 *really* good pictures of my DDs. I should get my cd in the next week or so and can't wait! I will post those pics when I get them. We've usually bought the 1 or 2 pictures from the park and I think they are about $12.95 a picture so the cd will work out fine.

Love, love, love your trip report!! Your pictures are so cute and I love the matching shirts on your girls! How fun to play with alice and the mad hatter. I haven't seen pics of it and it looks like so much fun! It also looks like Lilo and Stitch was a lot of fun. We are headed there in a couple weeks and have ressies for Lilo and werent sure if we should do it, but after reading how great it was, I think we will give it a shot! Glad you had a wonderful time!

I just finished reading, great TR :) You guys are so cute and I just LOVE the girls outfit.

If only it didn't look weird if a 14 year old wore them... :rolleyes1

Your girls are adorable!
Love the photo of the castle--that would be fantastic as the cover of a DL photo album!
