Happy Trip Planning! I'm having a very hard time keeping my mouth closed with all of the surprises! Thank goodness for the DIS boards or I would have blown it long before now!

I've been to your TR!! You've got me addicted.
I'm not quite sure what I would do without the Dis Boards. I love them so much and all the people in the Dis Family are great!

The upgrade post card sounds cute - but I think I want to hold onto the surprise as long as possible. Now I'm thinking about NOT telling him... just waiting for him to figure out that we got onto the Wilderness Bus. It is a good test to see how distracted he is by the kids.

I agree about holding out on the surprise...I just cannot wait until our trip! Everything's laying out in the bedroom and DH just got home...I need to head in there and get everything put away so he doesn't catch on to anything!

THAT WAS A CLOSE CALL!!!
After Shawn got home a few days ago I went out to the store. Before I left my driveway I checked the mail box and found this!!!

Can you imagine if he would have checked the mail!!! Good thing he's a slacker some times!!

The letter in the envelope said:

"Welcome back aboard! Your next Disney cruise is closer then ever. So we're sending you this travel kit filled with all the details you need to plan your dream cruise."

Most likely he would have stopped reading by then and would have just thought I ordered a new DCL DVD.

But then on the bottom of the letter there was a planning calender:

October 31st we can start registering for excursions

November 15th - Final Payment Deadline

January 29th - Vacation Starts

So if he would have just glanced at the bottom of the letter it would have been all ruined!!!

But no worries!!! The secret is safe!

I agree! My daughter is 2 1/2 and she is crazy for Mickey and Disney. Whenever we ask her where she wants to go she says the Mickey Store (Disney Store) or Mickey's House. When she was even younger we would ask her what we needed to go to Disney and she would reply "Money" and put her hand out for some.

It seems like sometimes you can still get good rates as the time approaches. Recently my father upgraded his tickets to Florida when he was checking in online and he was able to upgrade to business class for $60! It would have cost him more than $200 to originally purchase business class tickets. So don't fret.

I don't think I'm going to plan that many (if any) excursions. But I will post all my plans for sure!

So we had a BUNCH of bad storms roll in a few days ago. It's funny how different you react to bad weather when you have children. We were in the basement right when then announced a tornado warning. Normally we wait until the sirens go off... and then stick around outside for awhile 'storm watching'.
I started taking Charlie (our doggie) for a walk every night. Just Skylar, Charlie, and me. We are normally gone for close to an hour. Well that night I looked outside and figured I better leave a bit early since it may rain. About 15 minutes into our walk there started to be big drops of rain. Not enough to get us wet, but enough to know it was on its way.
So at that point we turned around to head home early. I remember the thunder to the west sounded really bad!!! I figured a really bad storm was coming -or- there was a dragon in town. Since I didn't want to be near either of those things with Skylar I picked up the pace. When I got within a half block from our house I heard the kids across the street screaming 'TORNADO WARNING'!!! So I rushed inside to see Shawn about to call me all worried.
Everything ended up being fine. Just really strong wind and wicked thunder & lightning. I wish I was upstairs to watch - but we were playing it safe with the kids.

OK - Back to Disney.
So now I feel I really need to save up another $600-$800 so that we can rebook on the cruise a date for 2010. I heard you get 10% off your next cruise and at really good on board stateroom credit.
And Shawn keeps on talking about cruises now!!! He's too funny... Here's our conversation.

ME -I bet when the new ships come out that Disney Creates a two night cruise to go only to Castaway Cay.
SHAWN - Only two nights that would stink... but I guess it would be a good weekend surprise.
ME - Ahhh... you would surprise me with a weekend cruise??
SHAWN - No... how could I??
ME - Oh!?! So you want me to surprise you with a cruise.... I see how it is!!! (at this point I acted mad )

Then he explained that it would be to hard for him to do it since I handle all of the money... so how could he hide a big chuck like that coming out of our checking account. I understand his point ... I GUESS... But I just thought it was funny!!!

PLUS - My mom joined the DVC and may come in January with my Dad, Brother, his wife & their daughter. And my mom is going to use some of her points so that they can all stay at the same hotel... Well this really made Shawn mad... cause he doesn't understand why she can't sell us the points. "Why does ur brother get them." I'm just going along with it acting frustrated.... This is too much fun!!

I really hope he doesn't find anything out until I tell him in Disney!!!

What a mean thing to do. Now your husband is mad that you don't get to use your Mom's points. I think you should let him know about the WL and save the cruise for a surprise. Aren't you worried that your family will give away the surprises? You can tell him the WL is his Anniversary present.

Hi Everyone... finally I have a Disney Update!!!
Looks like my family may join us!!! So that includes my parents, my brother his wife and their little girl Emmie!

Here are our official plans!!
Saturday (arrival): We get off the airplane and go down to the magical express. I'll check in while Shawn watches the kids. We'll get on the bus and I'll be waiting for Shawn to figure out that we're not going to POP. I decided not to tell him or clue him in at all. I'll just wait for him to catch on. That night I made dinner reservations for Whispering Canon Cafe.

Sunday: Epcot in the Morning. We have reservations for Tepen Edo for a late lunch. That evening MGM has extra magic hours so I'm sure we'll be going there after a nap or swim at our resort. This will also be the day that I am going to sneak back into the room without Shawn and place his 'gift'. I can't wait to see his reaction to the cruise!!!

Monday: Extra Morning hours at Animal Kingdom. So well have to wake up bright and early to get there. I'm sure will just have a quick service lunch at the AK... There are also Extra Magic Hours in the evening at Magic Kingdom - so I made Dinner reservations at Crystal Palace.

Tuesday: The boys are all going to go on the Steam Train Tour at the Magic Kingdom. This is our gift to My Brother and My Daddy.
I'm not sure what we are going to do today but we have dinner reservations at Le Cellia. Hopefully my parents will be coming so we can leave the kids with them.

I can't believe you are not planning on going to Magic Kingdom until day 3. I don't think I will be able to wait that long! I need to see that castle before I feel like I'm in Disney. And I know Mike will want to twirl Emmie in the castle.

I'm so excited that we may be able to go with you, but also very nervous that I won't know until the last minute!

That's cool that you'll be able to take some family with you! We took Dan's mom on this past trip and it was soo much easier! Having help with the boys was super cool! It was also nice not having to push a stroller while DH and DMIL did it!

My update is taking alittle bit longer then expected. Now all of my Disney things are packed!! We ended up having a mold proublem in our rental house. So we had to move out.
So I should have everything I need here by the weekend. It's been a very long week.

Disney Update!!! So I was only Southwest airlines web page yesterday looking for a price. Well I thought it was a good deal $109 from Chicago - Orlando per person. The flight home is still being listed at over $300 each!! So anywho later that night I went on again to book our flight there (who needs to come home anyways ) Well when
I went back on it was only $89
The return flight still hasn't gone down... so I'm thinking it may be because we are returning in Feb and they havn't discounted past January. (I hope) So now we are one step closer to our trip!!!

It's too funny cause whenever I think about our trip I feel like I am day-dreaming about someone elses vacation!!!

Well yay that you got such a good deal on flights down! I agree, who needs to come home really??? It's cheaper to add a day to the park tickets than for that ticket...just stay until it's cheaper to come home I say!

Too bad about the mold problem! Just keep dreaming about Disney and it won't seem too bad!

WOW! Where have I been??
I've been around Dis reading and posting on other threads but have neglected my own! Last I left you we had a mold problem in our rental - Well we are living with my parents until we find a house to buy. We were just going to rent again until we saw how badly moving ALOT has started to effect Dexter. We really need to find a home of our own. Although with the way the economy is - we decided to stay here for awhile and pay down all of out debt. So when we do go to buy a home in a few months well be in a good position to buy.

OK - so that leads us up to the next thing that happened. Shawn was all depressed about money and where we are living so he was saying crazy things like. "Maybe we shouldn't go to Disney, and save the money." And all the while I'm thinking - ahhhhh no!!! I'm going to Disney World!!! So I broke down and told him about our room upgrade. I wanted to give him something to get excited about. I didn't tell him about the cruise - I still want to keep something a surprise AND I still have another few weeks to pay it off.
He was happy about the room and had no idea what I was planning!! I can't wait until we get to Disney and I can fill him in on everything!
I actually had a dream that he found out about the cruise and got REALLY mad at me. Oh well!!! It will be easier to swallow once its all paid for.

Ok! Now that your updated here are the rest of our plans.

WEDNESDAY - MGM first thing in the morning. Not sure how long we will stay. We have reservations at Chef Mickey's for dinner.

THURSDAY - Breakfast at Fort Wilderness's Trails End Buffet. Anyone who hasn't tried this is missing out!!! I think the DCL bus picks up around noon-ish, so I have planned an early breakfast and we'll just hang out in Fort Wilderness before we have to head back to the Wilderness Lodge. Then we have an hour bus ride before we see the Disney Wonder!!!!

FRIDAY - Nassau (we'll stay on the boat)

SATURDAY - Castaway Cay

SUNDAY - Time to get off our floating home and head to our new home at the Boardwalk Villas!!! That night I made reservations at Yak & Yeti's - but now it doesn't look like they are included on the dinning plan & kinda expensive. So we may reconsider.

MONDAY - I haven't booked a flight home yet BUT I know it will be a late one (I hope!)

I'm so excited and it's only like 88 days away!! The rest of the cruise isn't due until Nov. 14th. I could start booking things on the ship as soon as the end of this month if I paid it off by then. But I'm not really worried since I don't think will be booking anything besides a few hours of daycare.

So that's my update.

Now here's some things I bought! The t-shirts were $3 and the jackets $8!!

These two are mine. And I did break my "no wear until Disney' rule with the black T. I wore it to see The New Kids on The Block!!!
