I'm hoping that everything went well for you over the last couple days, and that your weekend will be a nice, stress free experiance.

Take care!

Do you even have any sincere appreciation for what an amazing Mom and Wife and WISH friend you are? So many people rely on you and you meet everyone's needs. I really hope you can find some peace and relaxation. Don't let the scale get you down. It is not a measure of who you are or what you are worth.

I completely agree with Cam. I, for one, rely on you and look forward to your posts SO much! Take time for yourself, dear. We love ya! :love:

Tracy, I hope dh's meeting went well. Good job setting just a few goals, right now that is what you need to do. I hope your mom is also doing better (and dad too). And I really hope you had a great weekend with lots of time to relax and enjoy your dh and kids and take time for you! Just keeping hanging in there Wish Sis, we are all gonna get there together!:hug:

Thanks so much everyone!:grouphug:

My DH's meeting went very well. He and the contractor he is working with are very excited about this new venture they will be working on over the next few weeks. Hopefully, everything will work out for both of them.:goodvibes

Today is mostly a relaxing day before the crazy, busyness of the week ahead. We have so much going on this week that it makes my head spin just thinking about it. We're going to take it day by day though and of course, pray our way through it.:goodvibes

My DD6 is currently working on her top left tooth. It is super loose, but she's afraid of the pain. :( if she just wiggles a little bit one way, it should come right out.

Hope everyone has a great evening.... I'll try and get to more journals tomorrow.:goodvibes

Good morning WISH buddies,

Today is the last day of the month so here is an update on my goals for the year:

1. I want to lose 20-25 pounds before we leave for WDW in September. I'm at 216 right now and it's not a good place to be. More on this later...

2. I want to build up our savings account. We did a good job here this month. We added $500 to our savings account and plan to add more in May!

3. I want to pay off as much debt as possible. Not much progress here. We are in the process of paying card # 3. Probably won't be paid off until this summer.

4. I want to become a better cook. I want to cook healthy, balanced meals for my family. Better here this month. Making better choices and trying to add more fruits, veggies, and protein to our diets.

5. I want to organize my time better. Doing better on this! Setting aside time for certain things each day (journals, rewards programs, working out, e.t.c) has helped a lot! Plus, getting organized in the house and in the garage means we are wasting less time looking for things.

Rewards Programs:

SR: $50 Disney gift card

SS: $34 check

KE: $10 check

$54 in our change jar

As you can see, it was a slow month for me for rewards programs. I want to boost those numbers next month.

Now, the weight loss issue:
I am really floundering here. I remember a few months ago, I was complaining because I was maintaining at 204. I've been around 216 for awhile now and it is a very uncomfortable place to be. My goal of losing 20-25 pounds before September seems very unattainable. The problem? Well, it's not lack of exercise. Wink It's inconsistent eating. It's eating to placate my feelings. It's eating late at night. It's eating too much fast food. I've spoken at length about this with my DH and his theories are:

1. I'm eating too many carbs. ( as usual :( )
2. I'm eating too late at night. (ugh!!!!!:mad: )
3. I don't have enough protein or fiber in my diet. (Don't the two cancel each other out?:confused: )

My first instinct is to give up. Say this is too hard for me. I'll never be the weight I want to be at. This is the all or nothing side of me. My stubborn side says, "Tracy, don't give up on this! You can do this! It's just going to take some prayer and some work. Now, make it work." :rotfl:

Over the next week, I'm going to pray and read some books on exercise and nutrition. I want to get back on track and definitely see Onederland again. The only time I have seen Onederland in the past few years was when I was sick and had the flu for a week and couldn't eat. :sad2:

Today's Plan:

* Homeschool

* laundry

* Workout (only 72 more!)

* Go to the library

* Work on rewards programs

* Pray and read

That's about all from here.... I did want to mention that DD6 lost her tooth last night and can't wait to see what the tooth fairy brought her!:thumbsup2

Have a great day everyone!:hug:

Hi Tracy,

I am so glad that your DH meeting went well!!! That is great.

I think you have a great attitude about everything....especially weight loss. I am glad that you took a moment to think about it and didn't quit. You can do this, I know you can. I feel your frustations though too. I have been at this same weight now forever. I have been watching what I eat and working out and it's not doing anything. What do we do! Just keep on doing it. It will work. I am glad that you were able to talk to your DH about it too....Keep it up!!!!

You are doing a great job...keep up the good work. Your goals are great!

Have a wonderful day :)

Hi Tracy
You have done awesome with your goals :goodvibes
As for the weight loss, it will come, i have been working out for 3 months & only lost 2 lb's & that wasnt till last week! BUT i feel sooo much healthier & i know i've toned up, i'm sure you will have too, the loss will follow, stick with it your doing amazing :hug:

Hey Tracey--

WTG on your goals for the month, I love reading about how you are doing on your goals for the year each month!! Please don't give up on the weight loss goal. Stay positive, I think you are doing a great thing by reading some books on exercise and nutrition. You have to experiment and find which approach works the best for you! I truly believe that you can do this! Stay positive and good things will happen!

Keep up the good work!!

I think you know what to do to lose weight--it's convincing yourself to do it. I'm also a but of an emotional eater (but mostly boredom) and it's crazy that I can tell myself "I shouldn't eat this" right as I'm shoving the spoon in my mouth. I know whats good. I know what I should limit. And, yet, I sometimes make bad choices.

I know that whatever goals you set for yourself, you will accomplish them. Look at how good you're doing with your finances! If weight loss is a goal, you will figure out a way to do it :) And we're here for you if you need ideas...or simply to vent :grouphug:

Hi Tracy, sorry I have been MIA for so long. Thank you so very much for stopping by my journal when I have been a slacker:grouphug: .

You are right about having the exercise part down. Now you need to focus on the eating. Try picking one thing like nothing to eat after 8pm, and just work on that one thing for a week. Then when you have confidence here move onto something else like have protein with every meal and snack or only have three meals and two snacks a day - no eating in between.

You are so good and breaking monumental tasks into achievable goals. You can do this. Look at how far you have come with the exercise. It is just so natural for you now. The same will happen with the eating.

Another easy calories reducer is to always, always have a bottle of water with you. Then you are not tempted to have a soda when you are out.

Hang in there Tracy! You WILL achieve your goals!:grouphug:

Hi Tracy,

Just wanted to stop in and say hi :wave: Hope all is well and you are doing good!

Have a great day :)

Tracy, I posted a reply to your journal last night, then the server went down. I see its not here so I guess it didn't make it before it got lost in cyber space :mad: ! You have done well with your goals! You are really making an effort in so many areas and you should be very proud of yourself. I think your food will get in line very quickly too. Try breaking that larger goal into mini goals, and attack each one of those at a time. Food is a very big part of the equation for all of us and one we all struggle with. You are not alone. Do not give up! You have come so far and learned so much. With all that you have been through, you have kept it up. And I need to omit the fast food too, we can do this together.

Just hang in there Wish Sis!:hug:

Hi Tracy! Where are you? I hope you are out having a great week now that spring has finally sprung and the weather is nice!:hippie:

Good morning WISH friends,

Thank you so much for your support and encouragement! Life has been super busy here....:eek:

My DH has spent 4 out of the last 5 days out in Pennsylvania for work. This is a good thing, but it doesn't give us much time to get other things done. Because his workload has increased, my workload has increased. After all, I am his administrative assistant. ;):lmao: We're also trying to wrap up kindergarten for my DD6 and getting all of our plans in place for next year's homeschooling. The textbooks have come in and the kids are very excited!:banana:

Tomorrow is weigh-in.:eek: I am hoping for a loss. Even if it's only .2, I'll take it. My eating has been somewhat better this week and I've been working out (Power 90... only 69 more workouts!:banana: ) so hopefully the scale will cooperate.

I've been reading a book called 10 Habits That Mess Up a Woman's Diet by Elizabeth Somer. The 10 habits are:

1. Mindless Eating
2. Putting Others' Needs Ahead of Our Own
3. Not Being Honest
4. Skip the Broccoli, Eat the Fries
5. Setting Off Without a Plan
6. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses
7. I'm Moody- Let's Eat!
8. Give Me the Quick Fix Now!
9. Drinking Away Our Waistlines
10. The All or Nothing Approach to Dieting

As I have been reading this book, I realize that I have several bad habits that I need to change when it comes to food. For example, I love Hot Fries. They are my snack of choice and when I eat them, I eat the whole bag. When I eat the whole bag, it's about 650 calories worth in one sitting. Add that to the 3 meals + other snacks I eat during the day and it's no wonder that I'm not losing weight. :sad2: I really have been taking a look at my habits and realize that out of the 10 habits listed, I practice 9 of them most of the time. I also need to remember that exercise is NOT a go ahead for a food free for all. Oftentimes, I will think, "Gee, I can have 2 donuts because I worked out this morning." Then, that sets the rest of the day up for more high carb, sugary cravings that I often cave in to. :( This book has given me more "food for thought" than any other diet book I have ever read. It may just be a timing thing where I am finally ready to "hear" the information, but it's a great book all the same.:thumbsup2

Today's Plan:

* Homeschool

* Workout

* Laundry

* Rewards Programs

That's it for today! I hope everyone has a wonderful day!:grouphug:
