Will Toys'r'us let me return or exchange something w/o the receipt? i bought a tub of legos and 2 small sets a while back when it was buy 2 get 1 free. Well, I stupidly left them in the car and DS saw them. I am now wanting to return them all ($30 total) and buy him the anniversary lego tub and some different sets, so that they can be from santa. (obviously the others can't be from santa). Anyway, now I can't find the receipt. I have no clue what I did with it. How does Toys'r'us handle this? I don't want to go get embarassed, or make a trip just for them to tell me no.

Yes, TRU takes baack their toys without a receipt needed. They'll ask for your driver's license and will refund back in store credit. How ever if the item is on sale or has been marked down you will get the lower price back. I've never had a problem with them. Happy shopping :wave2:

Thanks!

I shouldn't have a problem turning around and using that store credit to buy $75 worth of stuff and get the $10 GC, will I? One last question and I'll stop, I promise. I have several coupons. One for 20% off one item that came with the coupon for th e $10 GC, 1 $5 off a $25 purchase and a $1 off birthday GC. Can I use all of these together and does the total have to be $75 AFTER all of the discounts, or can it be before?

WAIT A MINUTE!!!

Toys R Us just changed their policy and they DO NOT take returns without a receipt any longer!!! The policy just changed and I have a feeling alot of people are going to be upset by it! They have had notices up in the stores and attached to the reciepts for a few months now outlining the new policy.

Sorry but without a receipt you are now out of luck :sad2:

Wow, I had no idea! I just returned something 5 days ago without a receipt and it was painless. You are right, there will be a lot of upset people! :sad2:

I tried to return a defective item and I had lost my receipt and they would even let me exchange it. This was just last month. So I do not buy anything from there anymore unless it is a great deal and I know it will not be returned. It was such a bummer.

The total has to be $75 after discounts to get the $10 gift card, so you would need to spend $81 before tax, your 10 GC is a form of payment not counted as a coupon, but make sure you give them the $5 off $25 and the $1 off before they total your order.

No exchange for DVD's anymore...found that out the hard way. I am not happy with Target return policy, and TRU.

I wonder if it varies from store to store...I work at BRU at customer service and we take things back without a receipt ~ just need to give them your license and you will get lowest selling price in the form of merchandise credit.

for the poster that could not return without a receipt...was it a DVD or something like that? The BRU policy is that you can return opened DVD's and videos only for the exact same title (like if the 1st one was defective) No refunds given on those.

I did quite a bit of shopping at TRU last month and nothing on my receipts say anything about no returns without a receipt policy. Nothing that I saw in the store either. I wonder what's going on??

Looks like it's up to the individual store. Was at TRU today and ours' will take back without a receipt

Your store credit is just like using a gift card.. it will not affect the spend $75 get a $10 GC deal.

You should be able to use all of the coupons. Tonight I went in and got the Spongebob Gameboy Advance SP bundle. I used a 10% off 1 item and the $5.00 off $25.00 printable coupon. I than also got the $10.00 gift card for spending over $25.

If all else fails and you cannot return your legos without a receipt, consider donating them to the firemen or Toys for Tots this Christmas. I had something once that I had bought out of town, then shortly before Christmas I found out someone else in the family had bought the same thing. Instead of driving it back, I opted to give it to he firemen. The kids were :earseek: because it was something really cool and THEY wanted it, but I explained that God has blessed us and expects us to share with others who don't have as much. I told him that God will bless them for their generosity in giving to others. Well, sure enough, when Christmas with the family came around and they got that exact toy, they felt like they were blessed!

Now every year they ask to go shopping for the firemen! (this year I think they want to get them a DS!) :rotfl2:

That's not a bad idea. Thanks! I'm planning on doing some shopping for the schools food and toy drive anyway.

At my TRU, you only get the $10 gift card if you spend over $75. I asked the clerk to double check and she showed me the newspaper flyer. Not happy about that one...
