Hi everyone! I'm not new here, but I finally registered so that I can post.

My children have accumulated quite a few Toys R Us gift cards over the past few months and would love to put the value of these towards their WDW souvenir budgets. Any advice on turning them in to Disney gc's? Does Toys R Us allow you to purchase Disney gc's with them?

Any advice or information would be appreciated.

I *just* looked this up yesterday and no, TRU will not allow you to do GC>GC transactions.

Sell them to a 3rd party. You'll take a loss but you can convert to cash or to a GC that you can use (like a Target GC, which CAN be used to purchase a Disney GC).

Coinstar has some kiosks that will accept GCs and pay you in cash or an Amazon GC. Target will accept GCs from another store and give you a Target GC. But again, it won't be 1:1. You'll get (maybe) 65¢ on the $.

You could sell them on Raise. You will get a lot more than you will from one of the kiosks. I have had very good luck selling on Raise.

They use to allow it. Recent reports were that transactions under $100 still go through.

@supersnoop I almost suggested that...so many places are YMMV. But it was clearly stated in the policy online.

Thank you! That is a pretty handy site! I am waiting for my local TRU to restock Disney gift cards so I can give that a try as well.

I was just at TRU yesterday and while I was waiting in line to purchase something, another customer asked if they could purchase a GC with a GC, and the cashier said they do not allow it, and wouldn't even try. Good luck!

I am sure this will happen to me as well. The gc's will eventually get used when one of my girls "needs" something. Unfortunately our toy room and yard are way above capacity right now. Lol My dd4 is so confused why she can't use the gc's at WDW.
