toys in resort pools?

I will be staying at POR may 7-13th and I was wondering if they allow pool toys in the pools at the resorts? I was going to buy my 2 DD's some of those spongy balls that they can throw at each other. But if they are not allowed then I wont buy them.

Well if they are throwing them AT each other the guards may ask them to stop but if they're throwing them to each other I think you'll be fine! I know at the Polynesian my boys used to throw those balls to each other and their Dad. In fact they sell them in one of the shops...News from Civilization or whatever the current name is.

My girls usually throw them AT each other. they hit me in the back of the head once and boy did they get it back. LOL. But it was fun. They were just playing, not trying to hurt each other.

We have taken water balls to GF, Poly, BC, and BWI's pools. We are careful not to hit anyone. The lifeguard has never said anything.

Sure they are allowed. They even sell them at all the resort gift shops along side swimmies, beach buckets, and beach balls. At the Poly there were many kids, including mine, playing with these balls. I did notice the lifeguards telling one child that the buckets and shovels were not allowed but that was it.

How about kickboards and inflatable floats? Are they ok or is it at the discretion of the lifeguard?

Our daughter used those balls at the GF and we didn't have any problems at all.

My DD used a kickboard at AKL the last time we were there in May, 2001.

In the afternoon, they even had one of the lifeguards in the shallow end of the pool playing games w/the kids using diving sticks & such. The kids loved it.
