Toyota dealership won't budge on price...say they can sell vehicle anyway!

I believe the post was facetious in reaction to a previous post calling car salesmen "sales idiots".

If it was, I apologize to LegalSea. Sometimes I am blind to things. If I was right, I stand by my statement!!!

I know, I know!! I did post an apology. I mistook the tone of the post and thought the poster was being a smartass. Sometimes I think I dye my hair too blonde!!!

I don't know anything about Toyota dealerships but I do know some family that sells cars.

They just went and bought out a Chevy lot that was closing.

I know they are having trouble getting inventory.

Mine is in too. I am picking it up Monday, couldn't swing the money until then, dealer wants it off the lot before end of month.

I was offered an extended warranty at $1791 and $100 deductible if I went to another dealer for service. I told him I would think about it. When I called to set up picking up the car I told him I wasn't going to add anything, didn't have the money. He then offered to take $300 off it. When I told him I would be getting it serviced elsewhere (I live 5 minutes from a Toyota dealer but this one is about 40 miles away -long story!) he said he could give me the Toyota warranty at the same price with no deductible. Well why didn't I get that deal to start with This is why I do not like car dealers!!!! I have a subaru now that I bought at a woman owned dealership that does not dicker. They show you what the MRSP is, what the invoice is, and give you their price for everything printed out that you can take with you. I love it. When I bought this subaru I checked one other dealer, test drove the same car and it would be about $2000 more!

Anyhow, I know OT - please let me know what you think of your car!

They didn't bug me about the extended warranty. They had it bundled in with so many other things that I never found out how much the actual warranty was. I think I will get it from a dealer on priuschat.com that everyone uses. He sells the 7 year for $1055 and the 8 year for $1600.

I was so proud of myself yesterday, I got 68mpg on my way home from work. That is all city driving though.

I like the space for my bag.

Got mine today -looks a lot like yours from the outside!!

I settled for the III without the nav. I love the feel of the fabric seats. I have only driven it home so far. I like it but it is going to take me a while to figure it all out! I have rented them 3 times in the past so I already know most of the basics. Now I am just trying to figure out where to put all the "stuff" I carry around! Haven't figured out what to do with my garage door opener. Had it in a organizer on the visor of my old car but can't use it on this one.

Thanks again for the priuschat info -learned a lot from it. I didn't add the extended warranty yet, not sure I will. It will be $1491 more for 4 extra years IF I buy it in the next week. Toyota's are so good, not sure it is necessary. However if something does break they are expensive to fix.

Toyota must be shipping a lot lately as we got our car today too! It's a 2010 Sienna XLE AWD. We had a bit of a surprise as the van came with a dvd player and a sunroof! It was nice getting back into a "big" car after driving that chevy rent-a-car around for so long.

Lora J, I have the same backpack!! When we're all going somewhere, and I'm driving, DH knows he has to carry Coachy on his lap, or the armrest. She doesn't travel well on the floor!!! I have loved carrying her all summer. I need to find a pretty backpack for fall/winter.

I wish I could post the new car smell. I love it!

My dealer did say that Toyota was trying to push out the cars as fast as they could to help with the depleted stock. My car was two days early. It literally rolled off the ship and to the dealer within hours.
