We have booked at CCI and HS for our trip in April, but are really leaning towards HS, not least because it's $400 cheaper overall. However, with 2 seniors in our party, I'm wondering how people find using the Toy Story shuttles. Are they easy and convenient? And how long a walk is it from HS to get on one?
Thanks!

There's more than one Homewood Suites. "Toy Story Transportation Center" is a location on Google Maps. You can enter that and the address of your hotel and request walking directions. The shuttle stop is pretty far into the lot. Then in addition to the walk there may be several switchbacks to navigate and a wait for the bus. I've had to wait 20 minutes or more before, 45 being the record this past summer. If it's one of the farther Homewood Suites, that's going to be at the end of a long walk. Another option would be to drive, or to have someone drop everyone off at the drop off lot on Harbor and then return to the hotel and take the shuttle. But if it's $400 less, how much more would parking be at $18 per day?

We are staying at the new Homewood Suites right next to the Toy Story parking lot. We're New Zealanders, we won't have a car! But to be honest, you can get a lot of taxi fares for $400 too...

We're staying at the new one as well. I've seen two people post on here they never waited more than 5 minutes for a shuttle and that it was consistently running. It is .3 of a mile from the front door of the new HS. Easy peasy! Both did say it was hit or miss for early morning so we are going to use Uber on that day. Uber ride approx $6.

It's a little under 1/4 mile from Harbor to the shuttle stop. So that plus however far your room is to Harbor and the hotel exit to the TS walkway.

The new Homewood Suites = next to Toy Story Parking Lot= @ 5 minute walk to the shuttle loading area.

We stayed there Jan 15-19th and it was great. The toy story shuttle was easy to get to and no problem at all. The walk was short and simple and that is from a person who damaged their knee at the end of November and was having some problems with it. We were not part of the marathon group it was just that this was the only time that would fit in with our trip.

How much does it cost to ride the shuttle?

Just a bag of peanuts for the elephants that can be seen from the jungle cruise. ;)
Seriously though, there is no charge to ride the TS shuttle. Only to park a vehicle at the TS parking lot.

@az4boys wasn't it you would stayed here???

We stayed at the new Homewood Suites in November, right after it opened. I posted a few times about it earlier. I believe it was .3 miles from the front door of the hotel to the shuttle. Most of that walk was just from Harbor into the parking lot. We took a cab to get to our MM as early as we wanted and walked back once, but rode the shuttle every other time. For $400 I would definitely stay there. We never had to wait long for a shuttle, but going at peak times during a busy day may be different. You didn't say anything about the mobility of the seniors. The Toy Story shuttles have accessibility features, but I'm not sure about the CCI shuttle. I have never stayed there. If you need a shuttle with handicap accessibility you might wait longer. For a $400 savings though, I would take the Toy Story shuttle as much as it was convenient, and plan to take a few cabs to make your overall experience easier.

A side note, our shuttle driver (not Supershutle) had no idea there were now two Homewood Suites and thought we were crazy when we told him to turn right towards Disneyland instead of left on Harbor. Hopefully those involved in transporation (cabs, shuttles, etc.) are now familiar with the second location.

Oh ok, that's good to know, we'll check that they have the right location when transporting us! Thanks

Does anyone know how early the shuttle starts running? We would like to get to the parks early for RD.
