Toy Story Mania comes out on Wii today! (9/15/09)

I saw the lackluster review on GameZone and had second thoughts about buying it. Let's face it, $50 for a not-great game is a lot of money! I have a reservation card through Target that will get me a $5 Target gift card if I buy within the first week it is out. I'm happy to read that you all seem to like it - maybe I'll buy it after all!

I don't have a Wii, but want to get TSM for my nieces who do. I'm going to wait a bit for a sale or the price to drop. I'm sure we will like TSM, but I have found Disney video games always drop in price. I always check Amazon reviews and there aren't even any posted there yet, but they do have it now for $44.99 with free shipping.

Wii Fit Plus? I still hadn't decided between Wii Fit or Active! Or even if I should buy a Wii. Is anyone still playing Animal Crossing?

DP still loves Animal Crossing. But thankfully he is employed again and would rather sleep than play it all night. The music is enough to drive you batty if you listen to it for 4+ hours non stop (at least when you don't play the game.)

Does the Toy Story game need the latest motion gadget?

:rolleyes1I spent a long time last night and this morning playing Animal Crossing.

Hope its a good review and i can download the show before Friday's UK launch, or i will just have to come back to Florida and play the real one again ;o)

We will be reviewing TSM for the Wii on todays show.

Cool!

Hoping it's worth buying, but unfortunately, most movie, ride, whatever to game translations leave a bit to be desired. In most cases, and I'm hoping this is not one of them, they are relying simply on the excitement of the buyer to purchase something familiar to them.

Plus is the same balance board but just new software. It allows you to plan routines by day etc; and includes new games/activities. You need to decide on your own if you want a Wii or not. Active seems to be more workout intense. There is also a new Jillian Michaels Ultimate 2010 coming out soon. Her first game had terrible reviews. The Biggest Loser also has a new game.

It doesn't need Motion Plus.

Cool. Thanks Kevin.

It does NOT need the motion plus.

Now, I just read that the 3D is only on some of the unlockables? If so, whew. We only played through all the story parts last night and I was thinking to myself - this 3D is terrible! So that's good to know. There was nothing in the guide book about just where the 3D is so we were a bit perplexed.

We liked the games. And we were able to reach most of the objectives on the levels. I am terrible at the maze game though. :confused3

I forgot to say - we got the card in the box from WalMart that offers the free ticket to TS 1 and 2. BUT I tried to enter it into their website today and it wouldn't work.

SO I emailed customer support and they had me scan it saying the number I was entering wasn't in their system. I sent it to them and they haven't gotten back with me yet.

Just wanted you guys to know if this happens to you, you CAN email customer support (link is on the website for the free card) and they will email you back.

We played some today, and the thing that frustrates me is trying to figure out how to meet some of the "objectives" that you need to unlock the games so you can play without going through the whole "story" thing.

If anyone can figure out (1) how to launch 4 rockets at once in the rocket game, (2) shake out the bees in the balloon popping game, or (3) find (much less shoot) the pigs in the Hamm and Eggs game, please let me know. That's as far as we've gotten so far. There must be some tricks or cheats in play here.

HAMM AND EGGS
You have to shoot the targets on the right side. The Scarecrow. The birds are worth 100 points just keep shooting and shooting. A lot of them at the top....then the pigs will come out. It is similar to filling the fish in the barrel.

When I get back home and remember how to exactly do the other two you asked I will let you know

It is in the book. It is where you build a game or quick play and exchange your tix for games, pages, stickers....

I love the game!!! I am not one who enjoys many games as I find them too difficult. I like Toy story, because it is simple enough for me and my little girls, yet has some challenges that my older girl and husband like as well.

The only thing is my arm got really tired. LOL:rotfl:

I picked up a copy yesterday and finally got a chance to play last night, after I put the kids to bed.:thumbsup2

The game overall is a lot of fun, my wife and I played until about 1 am.

Looks like it can be fun for all ages. I'm sure my kids are playing right now at home as I type this.

The only thing is I can see how you would be able to finish all the games real quick. But until that happens :3dglasses

Thanks chkultr - I didn't see that - will have to go back and read about the
3D!

Also, I got the email from customer support - seems I thought an 8 was a B on the code. Got my free movie pass. yay!

Wii Fit Plus? Hmmm. Glad I hadn't purchased one yet. Guess it will be an early b-day present.

The Wii Fit balance board is the same. It is just the games, workouts that are the plus. For those that already own the Wii Fit you will be able to purchase the Wii Fit Plus game separately ($19.99). I pre-ordered mine today.

I did get a tired arm last night. :)
