Does anyone know if the TownePlace Suites by Marriott is reasonably close to DL? I have three free nights I can use there or the Fairfield. I have not heard good things about the Fairfield so I am looking into TownePlace suites. I am going to call them and ask about a shuttle, but I thought I would ask the "experts" first!

Just saw your post - it is one of the further hotels, almost near the Duck Pond, but having a suite is nice, and it is on a shuttle route. I stayed in winter so never went back to the hotel until th end of day.

There is a Starbucks in a strip mall out front, but little else. My friend came to pick me up for dinner and we ended up back at the Disney area since not much around the hotel.

But service and product were great.... and much much quieter than the Fairfield. I also saw the fireworks from my room!

Thanks! I can't beat the price (FREE!)

One thing which I think you should know if you are not familiar with TPS - because they are extended stay they don't provide housekeeping service on a daily basis.

Was not an issue for me on my own when I only stayed three days, but good for families to know!

And for what it's worth, I actually enjoyed my stay at the Fairfield! I am a veeery picky hotel guest who spends around 200 nights/year in 3 and 4* hotels, so was leery (I had once spent all of five minutes there when it was a Ramada before I ran screaming from the building!)

While the outside is a little cheesy (McDonalds room service!) the room was large, with a sofa seating area, fridge, etc. And the cleanliness was up to Marriott's usual high standards.

Food options are definitely lacking, but also at the TPS. There is a little takeway place which I never used, always went to Downtown Disney or one of the parks instead. Also you could walk to lots along Harbor Blvd.

Granted, I did stay in loooow season so there were few families/kids etc.

For location and space and cleanliness, this is however a great option!
