Towncar grocery stops?

I haven't used a towncar service for years and there's so many now that i don't know which one to choose.

Will it be a problem booking 10 days out?

Do they all do grocery stops - how much extra do they charge, and where do they stop?

Are there any I should avoid - for obvious reasons, like they didn't turn up, they crashed, or were extremely rude? Thanks

There are the reputable, established, companies that have real quality chauffeurs, clean vehicles, most that have been around for many years. And there are others that will hire any warm body with a pulse, then call them a chauffeur, and you could share your ride with some friendly Florida roaches :) My suggestion.. do a search on the internet. It's unfortunate, some (not all) responses you will get here are actually written by the low life (bottom of the barrel sorta speak) transportation companies trolling this website for victims. Because of that fact I will not mention company names ..good or bad..just beware.

10 Days out for booking a reservation, that shouldn't be a problem, I would do it soon though. If you have your plane ticket there should not be any reason not to book your towncar service now.

Grocery stops: Yes, of course, as long as it was stated in the reservation, let them know how much time you need. The normal charter/wait time is $40.00-$45.00 an hour, they should stop where you want. If there is additional mileage involved they will probably charge accordingly. You'll have to ask the company you book with for details. Realize companies, and chauffeurs, do not work for free.

Most of the towncar companies you read about here on the DIS do not charge anything extra for a grocery stop. Tiffany town cars and others get good reviews, as does FL Tours who is a sponsor of this board and has an ad you can click on...look at the top of the page.
I would not wait too long to make a reservation. Make sure you let them know you want a grocery stop and they will tell you how long they will allow. Also be sure to tip (if you do) each way in case you get a different driver going back to the airport.

Thanks all. $40 to $45 sounds a lot for a quick grocery stop! I think I will try the board sponsors, as they sound v professional.

I have used three of the most mentioned town car companies here, FL tours and Tiffany are two of them. All were excellent, on time and courteous with clean vehicles. None of the companies I have used charge for the grocery stop, IIRC one was a 15 minute stop and the other was 30.

I prepare my shopping list ahead of time by category, this helps even if you don't know the store layout. I am usually in and out in about 15-20 minutes so I choose the companies that offer the 30 minute stop!!
