Its cute. Some people get weirded out. Ymmv. It's not really prerecorded, so he can make comments specific to the person visiting. We take it in every time we go, but I wouldn't say it was not to be missed.

We (2 adults) used a 5th FP+ on a whim before leaving the park. It was great! The group ahead of us spoke Spanish, so Mickey spoke Spanish to them. He talked to DH about golf, did a magic trick, and told us we should head to Tony's for a romantic meal. We're two engineers and are pretty hard to impress, but we left wondering why we've never done it before!

There is FP available but it can't be guaranteed that Mickey will converse with you.

We were in MK recently on a crowd level 5 day and immediately after a downpour, there was a posted 35 minute wait for Mickey. FPs were gone by 5:30 that day - we were at the City Hall kiosk to see if we could pull a 4th for Mickey before heading to TST.

he talks as long as he's not "sick".

i think its great for young kids but personally as an adult i HATED it.

everything felt so forced and his speech timing is very delayed which made the whole interaction feel very awkward.

i much prefer when he doesn't talk and just mimes. i feel like you can have a much more personal interaction that way.

i did it once and will not do it again so for me it is not a must do.

i'll meet mickey at epcot from now on.

My kids saw a Youtube video of Talking Mickey and they thought it looked AWESOME! They can't wait to experience it this September.

We saw him at MNSSHP. He told us a Halloween joke and asked if we would like a picture. My DD 14 wasn't that impressed (but, you know, teenager...) but my DD 7 liked him and talked about it several times after we got home. I wouldn't say it "not to be missed" but if you can make it there and it is less than 30 minutes wait, then go for it.

I think it is pretty cool, but I've only done it once. My four year old kept asking why the other characters didn't' talk.

My DD15 and I thought it was so fun, Mickey was so fun to talk with. He asked us about the HM and if any hitch hiking ghosts followed us over from there. He had us take pictures like we were hitch hiking and when we left in a near perfect HM voice he said hurry back! We loved it and we went w/o a FP and only waited about 15 minutes in the morning in Early April this year.

He didn't talk when I saw him last fall (Sept. 2014). I was hoping he would.

I was blown away by it. Completely amazing, IMO.

However, I don't think he talks all the time now, and I don't think CMs are supposed to tell you if he's talking or not.

He didn't talk the first time we saw him last May, but did later in the trip.

We loved it and it created one of my best memories of WDW with my grandson. We try and go right when it opens- everyone is rushing to get to rides and the line is virtually non-existent. It is a must do every trip now. He's talked both times we saw him.

I find this mickey fascinating and yet a strange type of uncanny valley creepy.

It's definitely interesting tech and it'll be cool to see it evolve over time.

We loved it. I passed a note off before hand about proposing so he wasn't caught off guard. yes the timing is a bit off and it can be awkward but it was fun

I picked this up as a swapped FP+ on the day of when we found we didn't need the one we had booked for Splash. He sang happy birthday to my DD and it made her day. He really was pretty awesome to see.

The CMs will not confirm while you're waiting if he's talking or not. We got lucky in October and he talked. I got an awesome video of him saying "Oh look, a princess!" and them my daughter giving him a huge running hug. Totally made the trip worth it (among other things)!!!!
