weehawken, right across from empire state building, ferry to nyc with free vshuttle buses in manhattan. the ferry docks righht outside the hotel there might be a sheraton now

Yes the Sheraton in Weehawkin...there is a ferry right at the hotel that takes you into NYC..also free "Ferry" Buses that take you to major points in the city...42nd St, 34th, down to Lower Manhatten close to Ground Zero. We were there last weekend...the hotel is very nice. The ferry is great...the buses are convenient but be sure to check out the routes (off peak, peak) and talk to a bus driver to get the scoop on how to get a bus back to the ferry.

Also, the Sheraton is only about 10 minutes from Carlo's Bakery (Hoboken, I think)...from Cake Boss on TV...

Enjoy!

Secaucus is your best choice. We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Secaucus NJ....It was perfect. We caught the bus at right at the corner of the hotel and were in NYC within 20 minutes....same going back to the hotel. I think the cost was about 5.00 for 2 people....it was great. We stayed in Parsippany in December while my husband was taking a class. The commute into the city was long....anywhere from 45-90 minutes depending on traffic. There were also better restaurant options within walking distance in Secaucus.

I agree with the previous poster - Parsippany is too far. You might want to consider any town on the PATH line. It's generally faster and cheaper than NJ Transit.

May I suggest Jersey City?? There are a few hotels near Exchange Place such as the candle wood suites. Good prices, safe area (I worked near there for 10 years) and you can walk to either the NY waterway and take a boat or the PATH station... a subway under the river to downtown, first stop is World Trade Center, or to Hobken with the station two blocks from Carlos, or a train to 33rd street which 10 safe walking blocks from time square.

Left out you can park at Candle wood lot is fenced in so not a problem with parking

Thank you i will check them all i am so excited my daughter loves the cake boss so would love to go there hope the hotels are not to expensive as times square we looked at to much :cool1::cool1:

I would suggest either the Jersey City Waterfront area or Secaucus. Both are super close to NYC and Hoboken and both offer great Mass Transit options. Jersey City has Courtyard by Marriott, DoubleTree, Hyatt and Westin just steer clear of anything listed as being on Routes 1 & 9. Secaucus has at least 6 different hotels located right off of Route 3 West and the area has several places to eat close to all of the hotels.
