Not only is it a sweet ride, but what about the name " Tower of Terror" its a pretty sweet name

Did you notice that at WDW, when you look at the sign the words "The Twilight Zone" appear over "The Hollywood Tower Hotel"? I noticed this a few years ago and it shocked me that I hadn't seen it before after all the times I have been there lol.

You do realize that the official name for it is "The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror" right?:confused3

I LOVE THAT RIDE!!!!!!! I'm obsessed with it! If I could, I would ride that and RnRC all day long!!

And I've never seen that sign switch, just on TV. I might stand infront of the sign until it changes! lol

Yes, I know that is the official name, but the sparkling appearing words only read "The Twilight Zone" as they cover over "The Hollywood Tower Hotel"...at least that is what I remember unless I am mistaken.

Ah. Misunderstood your post then.

Actually, your post made me second guess myself and so I searched online for the sign. While I thought it only said part of the title, it does in fact read the full title. :upsidedow

I absolutley love that ride. I just got back from DL for the first time and it is really awesome there too, I love it because its different. I was expecting it to be the same as in WDW and then it randomly dropped, it was awesome :p

I've never been on Tower of Terror, I'm to chicken.

The first time we went to the ride, i made it through the movie, and then i got freaked out, and some employees had to send me back to the lobby using the employee elevator.

The second time, i went on it, and IT IS SO FUN :)
Just do it, and you will most likely love it

i remember the first time i went on, 7 years old, i was freakin out as sson as i sat down.its funny cuz i have the picture and im trying to hide

Yes, I plan on going on it on my upcoming trip.

Carpe Diem.

The ride is really tame now. It used to be SOOO much more intense (especially with the full drop each time). I went on it this summer and it isn't as scary going down anymore.

However, most people fear the anticipation the most. Walking in the boiler room is intimidating and then once on the elevator, the hallway and twilight zone are what scare people and just knowing that you're going to be dropping. Once the elevator starts dropping, it's A LOT of fun. If you haven't been on it, you have to try it and REMEMBER, it isn't the drops that are scary, it's the anticipation.

I was actually disappointed the drops aren't as scary anymore and that it is SO quick. Once you start dropping, it feels like 3 seconds later, the ride is done.

I strongly recommend going on it for those who haven't. It's a great ride.

This past summer there was a little boy and his mother in front of us (me and the father of this woman I was with *around 70 years old or so*). The little boy was scared and the mother had never been on it either. She turned to us and asked how the ride was, if it was scary and that sort of thing trying to calm her son down. We told her it isn't nearly as scary as it used to be and the ride is over so fast. The little boy was still kind of nervous. Then we hear the mother telling her son, "if that older man is going on it, it must not be too bad" lol. We got into the boiler room and she's still asking about the ride and then telling her son that is was okay. We kept reassuring the little boy that it was a really awesome ride and really fun. After a lot of that, we finally get in queue for the elevator. We are each standing on our spot and the doors open. The woman had suggested a seat in the back row with her son thinking it was less intense (it really isn't lol) and so she was going in first. The son runs into the elevator and the mother stops dead at the door. She freezes and immediately turns around saying "I'm not getting there!!" and the little boy runs out to his mother and she says "Go in, you ride, I can't. I can't. Go on in you go have fun, I can't, I can't" and well duh the little boy wasn't about to go in with his mother freaking out at the door! So she finally moves away and they don't ride.

I felt bad for them. The little boy had finally sucked it up to go on but only now, the mother was the scared one. Me and the guy I was with felt bad that they missed out on such a great ride because of fear.

It's not as intense? It's probably not as much as you remember, but it's definitely still as intense if not more.

Oh, and TOT >>> RNRC.

I thought it was more intense when it was the full drop down and up. These little ups and downs, to me, are not as intense.

When I went on it this summer, they drops were very short. Definitely no where NEAR the intensity it was a while ago.

I still love the ride to pieces and would go on it over and over again...no doubt it's still as fun and it's great not knowing whether you are going up or down next. Just - not as intense.

you at least get 1 full drop every time, the first 1, after that you can get a series of little drops. one time i got 2 and another i got 6 drops.

i took a sweet pic on my phone a year ago from hollywood blvd, its tower of terror and it was about to storm so the sky behind it is almost black

Not true. For the 2 of 2 times I went on it this past summer, I didn't get one full drop.
