I'd been emailing with someone about their upcoming July trip to DLR and possibly putting together a pin meet while they were here.

I've lost those emails, and now cannot remember who I was conversing with.

So, my question: who out there will be coming to DLR in July and would like to participate in a pin meet at DLR?

Let me know the dates you'll be at DLR, where you'll be staying, etc.

Howdy!! I think it was me.

I have been so busy with family stuff I haven't been around much.

But now we are getting close I would love to set a pin meet in DL.
We will be there from 7/23 until 7/31 at the Paradise Pier.

Anyone? I will put this on the Collector's board also.

Want to schedule a mini=meet on Sunday 7/28?

I would love to.

Any time is fine with me, and since I have no idea where is best. You name the place and I will show up.

We have APs so it can be in park if that is easier.

I'll be there and would love to meet on Sunday afternoon. Of course, we'll have to make room for my non-pin trading DH.

I guess we could go a couple of routes ... I'll be helping that day with a "pre-teen" kids meet (from 11 am to 5 pm) but should have some "free" time in the early afternoon. (I'm assuming) Because of this I won't be able to leave the DL park though.

The Showcase patio area at DL is cramped with few tables & chairs. Depending on how many of us want to meet would determine whether or not the Showcase is plausible location (too bad the new pin trading area doesn't open until the following weekend, on 08/03).

We could:

1. organize a "lunch meet" where we can sit down in doors (in air conditioning!) and "eat and meet" (if we pick a restaurant participating in the dining series, it might be possible to get the Cinderella dining pin).

2. meet in the same general area of the kid's pin trading. Depending on our numbers this might work (a lot more tables than at the Showcase) and it's in the shade (big plus). The only concern would be if we have a large group coming together; I would not want to impose on the 3-9 year old kid's meet (goes from 1:30 - 3:00 PM).

What do you think our numbers would be?

I am not familiar with DL traders, I know in WDW we would probably get 5-10 people if there are no pin events going on.

I will be solo - my family scatters when I break out the pins. I can't imagine why!!

I am very flexible can do anytime. If you feel it would be easier on you to be near kids we can do that. If we find numbers growing before hand we can adjust the place & time.

If we're talking somewhere in the ballpark of 10 people - then a restaurant or the Fantasia Gardens area should work (where the kids pin trading takes place).

Works for me ... if for some reason I cannot stay late that day, I'll get back to you and let you know.

So we are on for 7/28 @ 3:00pm at Fantasia Garden area.

Looking forward to it.

Yes - the 3-9 year old kids only pin trading will be over around 3 or 3:30 and the 9-13 year old pin "camp" will be having a meet from 3:30-5:00.

We won't take that much room, maybe a table or two if others join us....so I don't think we'll be in the way.

For those that don't know where to find Fantasia Gardens ... it used to be the dock for the motor boat ride (many, many years ago). It is located between Tomorrowland and Small World (around the backside of Matterhorn).

It is now a covered area with tables and chairs, and at the entrance are several DL merchandise/food carts.

If you still can't find it, just about any CM should be able to point you in the right direction.
