DH and I are going to be at POP the week of July 4th celebrating our tenth anniversary. :woohoo: We are leaving the day of the 4th open, and thought about touring the resorts that day. Does anyone have a "touring plan" doing so that you would like to share? Any advice on which ones we "have" to see? THANKS!!!!!

It's easy if you have a rental car. If not, it could take all day to see them!
Just go to one of the parks and jump on a bus(or boat if there is one) to
another resort. Unfortunately there is no Disney Transportation that takes
you from resort to resort so you have to be creative. But if you go to POFQ
you can walk to POR. You can monorail from Poly to CR to GF. You can go
from DTD to SSR to OKW to POR/POFQ by boat. It's fun. Have an adventure!:thumbsup2

How about taking the bus to MK, tea at GF garden view lounge. Then take a ride on the monorail up front with the conductor. After a full trip around, I'd reboard the monorail with the rest of the folks and get off at TTC. Then board the Epcot monorail, you'll get a sneak peak at Epcot. You could also take the boat at MGM and ride it to all the Epcot resorts. Or, you could go to POR/POFQ for a carriage ride. If you time it right you be able to see some of Illuminations from there. But for true romance, how about view Wishes from the beach at the Poly?

My dh and I do this a lot! Pick some of the favorites like GF, POR, AKL, Poly, and the list goes on. Take a bus to the first one, than depending on where you are you could take a boat to the next one or even walk. Also during your stay you could make ADR at one the many nice resturants in the various resorts. Just arrive a little early and walk around checking out the resort. It is awesome.

Here's how you can do the monorail resorts without a car and without going into a park. Take the Pop Century bus to Magic Kingdom. Board the monorail (outside the park entrance). See the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian. For variety, you can walk to the Contemmporary from the Magic Kingdom. You can also walk from the TTC to the Polynesian. You can also walk from the Polynesian to the Grand Floridian. I love doing this because you walk right past the Wedding Pavilion.

After doing the monorail resorts you can (back at the Magic Kingdom), take a boat to the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness.

Again back at the Magic Kingdom, take a bus to any of the Epcot resorts (the Swan/Dolphin would be best for a circular tour). If you take the Swan bus, get off there and then walk around Crescent Lake to see the Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club, Beach Club and the Boardwalk.

You can also take the Pop Century bus to Epcot then do your monorail tour from there, add in the boat trip to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness and then do the Epcot resorts.

Then from whatever resort you end up at, take the bus to Downtown Disney and then the boat from there up to Port Orleans, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West. You can walk in between the two Port Orleans resorts. I'm not sure if you can do that in between Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. and I'm not sure of the boat schedule.

That should give you enough for one day. For Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will have to take a bus from any of the parks. Same with Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach, adn the All Stars.

I think I named them all.

Wow disnut8, thats a great plan. We are going in Novemeber and depending on what time we arrive we are heading to DTD the first day we are there. Then I want to do a little reort touring. So I have a few that I want to check out and then if I have time I will do more of them as the week goes. I think your touring plan would work great for us :)

This is one of my favorite things to do at WDW.

Be sure to see all the monorail resorts via the monorail. (CR, POLY, GF)

You can take a boat to WL from MK or CR is you want.

AKL can best be reached by a bus.

The Epcot resorts are in a circle around a lake, so you can walk around to each of them.

POR and POFQ can be reached by a boat from DTD.

Theese are just a few suggestions but have fun this a a great thing to do!

I knew I could count on you all.

disnut8, WOW. Looks like you have a plan I could use, lol. Thanks!

We tour resorts when we go in Dec. On our AK day we pop over to AKL, MK day we do the monorail loop resorts and Epcot day we see YC/BC and BW

It is a lot of fun and not out of our way

Thanks for the comments on the resort touring plan. I was in the Disney area with my in-laws and I had to get a Disney fix without going into any parks. We toured the resorts using some of this plan. I guess I should write it down somewhere!
