Touring Plans vs Easy WDW

So I'm trying to start some initial planning for our trip the week after July 4th and Touring Plans has it pegged as mostly 5-6 crowds, surprisingly not bad. Easy WDW has every day of that week pegged as an 8, sort of what I expected. So why would there be such a difference? The only explanation I can think of is Touring Plans is assuming the new HP world over at Universal will draw a significant people away from Disney? Any ideas, I'm rethinking relying on the Touring Plans crowd calendar for planning my park days. :confused3

I've noticed Touring Plans new system seems to be so low, too. I'll be there the week after Easter and TP shows all 5-6s then, also. frustrating...

Last year we went July 6-10 and followed easywdw. It was spot on. We waited no more than 20 minutes for most rides. Very crowded but we did rope drop and fast passes and followed easywdw cheat sheets. It's was awesome!

We'll be there then, as well. I did my touring plans in TP, but I expect that our waits will be longer than TP says they will be.

We've followed easywdw now 3 times and he's right in the money. Josh tells you why he chooses the parks he does, and gives you tons of information on everything Disney! Plus, he's hilarious!!! :)

Trust your instinct. It's common sense that the parks will be crowded the week of July 4th. That Touring Plans has such low numbers is a joke!

I relied on Touring Plans once during a busy time and it was a HUGE mistake. The numbers were so wrong that I was upset that I paid for the service.

We've been using easywdw for several years now and most of Josh's predictions are spot on. A few times we've seen higher than predicted crowds in the recommended parks, but I'm willing to cut Josh some slack since his service is free ;).

Exact time we went last year and touring plans worked out great for us. We didn't think it was horribly busy the week after the 4th. As an example I pulled out July 9th a Magic kingdom. Level 6 and all the moutains a predicted to be at 40+ mins by 1pm through the end of the day.

Don't just go by the number 1-10 the reason you pay is for the hourly prediction of each ride that day. If all you want is a calendar with a general park rating use something free. TP is great for predicted ride waits and using in park to help tell you which ride to go to next...
