Hi.
I'm doing all the planning for my friends that haven't been to Disney in about 30 years.
They are 60 and active, although my friend's dh will be using a scooter.

They won't be doing any "Mountains" and not 7DMT.

FPs are:

10:05 am - 11:05 am - Buzz
11:20 am - 12:20 pm - Haunted
1:35 pm - 2:35 pm - Pirates

Does below sound doable for Tuesday, January 9, 2018
Park Hours are 9 am - 8 pm, although there is the early pay option going in an hour earlier
but I am not having them do this option. I subscribe to TPs, but thinking below may work better for them, what do you think:

Arrive at MK for RD by 8:15 am - 8:30 am (I am telling them to leave BW by 7:30 am - 7:45 am)
Position themselves on the right side of the castle hub

Go to Fantasyland
Peter Pan
Pooh
Small World
Haunted (I think they can do this before 10:05 am ish)
Walk to Future World
FP Buzz (10:05 am - 11:05 am)
Jungle Cruise
FP Haunted (11:20 am - 12:20 pm)
LUNCH at Columbia Harbor House
If before 1:35 pm:
Mickey's Philamagic
PF Pirates (1:35 pm - 2:35 pm)
Carousel of Progress
People Mover
Hall of President
Steamboat ride

Back to Boardwalk for rest

7:10 - Dinner at Beaches and Cream (so they can walk around the Boardwalk)

Does above sound like a good plan for the day next week?

Thank you.

MK having extra magic hours that morning will mean wait times will already be rising. Peter pan will likely have close to an hour wait by the time they get there at 9am. Their staying on site so I'd highly recommend them getting there for EMH so they can do Peter Pan then.

If they don't want to do emh then if possible I'd try to switch the Buzz FP to Peter Pan.

Also, if they want to start the morning in the Peter pan/Pooh area, I'd tell them to ride stuff over there then head to Buzz, vs going to Haunted Mansion then backtracking to Buzz. Especially if they have a HM FP for later.

I'd also possibly recommend pushing the Buzz FP back to a little bit later when their doing CoP and people mover. Just to cut down on the walking.

You have haunted mansion on the list twice, once with a FP - is this correct?

Also, the Steamboat will be closed for refurb: http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...verboat-closing-for-6-month-refurbishment.htm

If you end up keeping the Buzz FP, perhaps try moving it to the afternoon to better fit with when they will doing the other Tomorrowland attractions.

I assume the morning event is the paid Extra Magic Morning, not standard EMH, but the PP is still correct, expect a line at Peter Pan.

Thank you. This is not an actual EMH, this is the extra hour where you pay and get to ride the three attractions over and over until the park opens.
By that time, all that entered for the pay hour will have been on those rides. Would you agree? If it were a regular EMH, I would have them there for that time. I wanted them to start and really be done with FL in the beginning of the morning but the PAY extra hour has me a little mixed up and not sure how that affects the touring. Do you have an idea? Thank you.

I don't like that Buzz FP time between Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise.

I'm a big fan of planning to avoid criss crossing the park.
OK, do you think they will have time to go to Jungle Cruise first before the FP for Haunted?

Thank you. I'll take the Steamboat out.
I'll see about moving the Buzz FP
I didn't think the paid EMM would be a detriment to the touring since everyone would have been on those attractions and moving on to other things. Do you think I should move their Epcot and MK days? GGGRRRRRR Do you think I should just have them pay and attend the pay EMM?
They will be in MK another day (their last park day) since that is the only day I could get them on KTTK tour.

What do you all think?

with that list of attractions, I might just start them in Adventureland with Jungle, Pirates, etc and have FPs for HM, PP and Buzz at times when they'll make their way around to there. Basically a relaxed, clockwise order.

Thank you but then I think they won't get to ride the attractions in FL. Do you agree?
I am on MDE (well my friend's MDE) and cannot find where I can purchase the EMH.
Would all on here agree they should purchase it. On another thread someone said that the paid EMH doesn't factor into the touring
but I think after reading on here it may indeed matter.

Ohh ok. That extra morning magic is 7:45-10, so it threw me off when you said an extra hour. By 9am when park opens their might be a couple lingering but majority of EMM guests will be eating. So if your friends arrive early, they can do PP with a short wait.

I just looked and I cannot get PP for the morning, only evening and they will be out of the park by 6:00 pm.
If I start them in AL, I don't think they can get on the attractions in FL without waits. I want them on Pooh, PP and Small World and move on
from there. Should I still send them to PP first thing at 9 am?

This is where you go to purchase to EMM

However it looks like the 9th is sold out

If they want to do PP without a FP, then yes send them there first thing in the morning.

The EMM crowds don't affect the regular crowds. The EMH (Extra magic hours) is what affects the regular crowds

Thank you. So this option is then out. I cannot move their MK day to their Epcot day since I need their FPs for Epcot to be Soarin and cannot move that to a morning FP on another day.

So, I am stuck with January 9 for MK.
So, with the EMM people, I would think that they have already done PP and move somewhere else, has this not been the experience?
If it will still have lines, do you think I should just have them skip PP? I would hate for them to miss the attractions in FL but don't want
them to be stuck waiting and have everything else backed up...uuugggghhh

Also, if I take out the first Haunted (without FP), and move Jungle there, do you think that would be a good option?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I really appreciate your help!

I would keep trying to get a FP for PP. Buzz typically does not have that long a line and PP's line is consistently long all day. For us- PP is an absolute must, so if they can't get a FP, they do need to head there first thing. The line will only get longer as the day goes on. Even when we are there at lower crowd times, that line is typically 40 minutes to an hour consistently. We rarely wait over 20 minutes for Buzz, and more often than not, it is 10 minutes or less.

Your list seems to have them criss-crossing quite a bit- I would stick more to getting things done while they are in an area. You have them going from Fantasyland to Tomorowland just for Buzz and then to Adventureland and then back around Fantasyland back to Adventureland and then back over to Tomorrowland.

Are they not interested at all in the parade or fireworks? With the park only open until 8:00, I'm pretty sure my 82 year old Mother would be refusing to leave until after the fireworks.

Thank you for your response. No, they are not interested in the parades or fireworks, but will watch Illuminations.
I cannot get Peter until 6:25 pm that evening, which isn't going to happen.

Do you think I should have them skip PP? They will be in MK on January 11. They have a 10 am KTTK tour booked (which I originally wanted for January 8-9 but they waited too long to confirm they wanted to go...gggrrr). Anyway, I could have them get there for RD and then go directly to Peter and another attraction they want and then meet at 9:45 am for their 10 am KTTK tour?

Do you think above would work best staying away from lines?

Thank you.

All, do you think I should do below instead of what I originally planned:

Have them skip FL all together (as pitpat suggested). Can I start them in Adventure Land? I thought that sometimes that
area opens up a little later, is that not correct?

Then, since they missed Fantasy Land, they will be back for a 10 am KTTT the end of the week.
They need to be at the meeting place by 9:45 am.
Park opens at 9 am.
I can have them RD MK and do FL (PP, Pooh, Small World) and then head back to the beginning of Main Street.
Does this sound like a better plan?

I would not have them skip PP. I would have them go straight to PP and try it. I would have a back up plan for them if the line for PP is too long before they get there. Hopefully, the EMM people will have already ridden it and are moving on and they can get there with a line of 20 minutes or less. I would just tell them to go straight to PP and not to stop on the way there. For us, PP is one of the iconic WDW rides. It is a must do. If for some reason they can't do it on the 9th, I would use your secondary plan as a back up. Also, I would keep checking for FPs between now and then- people move things around and things open up.

Thank you. So if I get PP FP, I should use the Buzz FP to get the PP FP, correct?
If the line is too long, I will tell them to do it on the second MK day, unless you all think they should just skip Fantasy Land all together and do the hour
before their KTTK tour????

Thanks!

I would not suggest saving the FL rides for the hour before the tour. They will feel rushed and I think t would be tough to fit them in and be back at the meeting point by 9:45. I don’t think the EMM will affect them that much. It is a limited number of people attending, and they will have had plenty of time to ride Peter Pan already. We went to MK last year on an EMM day and did not feel that t affected us at all (caveat—we had a FP for Peter Pan, so I can’t apeak to that).

I think your original plan sounds good, except that if they go to HM after Small World, it is a long trek back to Future World. Do they really want to do Haunted Mansion twice? If so, perhaps a fourth fast pass is an option? (My kids won’t ride it, so we never check for it.). If that’s not a must-do twice, I would suggest finding something else in Fantasyland or Future Eorld to fill that spot. (Maybe Under the Sea? It has its detractors, but I love it.)

In my opinion the pay EMM is one of the biggest ripoffs. It's way overpriced for what you get
