Hi everyone,
My family of 4 adults and a teen will be at Disney July 14th,15th,and 16th for the first time. I want to ride the rides in close proximity to one another before moving on to the next section as much as possible. I also want to make sure my fast passes make sense based on both location and popularity. Can someone please help me make an easy to follow touring plan that includes suggested fast passes and a list of additional passes I should try to get? Also, how likely is haunted mansion if not pre-booked? We are having lunch at BOG and dinner at the plaza at 7:35. We likely won't be back for some time so I want to include as much as possible, without a lot of back and forth between lands in MK. Our current fast passes are listed below. I would really appreciate any help you can give me. July 14th is our MK day. Thank you so much!

Day 1
Splash at 9-10
Thunder mountain railroad 10-11
Space mountain 11:15- 12:15
Get additional fast passes after lunch at BOG

Day 2
MK late evening before dinner on monorail

Have you looked at touring plans.com? It's fantastic. It will do all that work for you and tell you how long it will take you to walk from one place to another, give you a map with your attractions in order, tell you a projected wait time. And you can see how long the HM line will be. I don't know how likely you are to get a FT for HM if not prebooked

Once you have finished your three fast passes you can try to get more, but what we have found all the good attractions have no more fast passes, BOG is always limited out for the fast passes, if you can change one of your fast pass times for BOG I would do so if that is something you are wanted to do. Splash mountain was about a 60 min wait while we were there, thunder man was about the same, space man was about 90 minute wait. We fast passed what we really wanted and had to do the lines when we needed, if you walk back and forth between the areas you just get hot and warn out pick were you want to go and grab a place in line and stick to the area until your done and go to the next ride, keep cool the best you can as it is hot in July. Haunted mansion was about 40-50 minute wait. Doing Disney is having to wait in lines there is no way around it. Just be patient and stay as cool as you can.

Wait - - do you need a FP for BOG? We have a reservation, but that isn't enough? FP too?

I've been happy using the maos from Kenny the pirate, they are clean and simplified..then I use touring plans as well. You have the right idea not zig zagging around for sure. I like to ask everyone what their top three ride choices are, then seeing if I can make all of them work, fast passing those most important to us. Getting there early at rope drop is the key to getting as much as possible done, and avoiding huge lines.

You could do Splash as a walk on to save a FP. If it is your first ride the wait will be pretty short. Or putting BTMRR first would probably get you done in time to get to Splash before the line gets long. Splash is just under 11 minutes while BTMRR is close to 3 minutes.

We had pretty good luck getting additional FPs after the first three were used up. The last night we got Space, Buzz, BTMRR, Splash, Haunted Mansion and Tomorrowland Speedway. We left about 9:00 PM with a midnight park closing since we were moving to Universal the next day. (That and getting up at 5:30 that morning for SWW.)

I also recommend Touring Plans. You'll have to create an account but not pay the fee to do a Personalized Touring Plan which allows you to pick the rides you want and then you can more things around to see what the lines are like etc. Assuming you only want to ride each thing once I'd suggest hitting 7Dwarfs at ropedrop, then if time slip in Haunted Mansion then Splash at 9:45, then Thunder Mountain right after, circling around through Adventureland and do Jungle Cruise, possibly Aloha Isle for a quick snack too! You could also do Tiki, Swiss Family. Pirates will be closed in July. Then head to space mountain & tomorrowland. You should check out Mesaboy's FastPass thread for priorities on Day 2.

I just created a custom touring plan on Touring Plans. Really love it. I am splitting MK into two day, I will do half the park one day and the other half the other day. This allows me to really get my fill on the rides I love without crisscrossing the park like mad. I am going in January too though so waits should be way down from what you'll see in July. Good luck and stay hydrated!

Well, if you're trying to minimize walking as much as possible, I'm not sure a FP for 10:00 at BTMRR and then another FP+ for 11 on the other side of the park for Space is a good idea?

If you're wanting to hit Frontierland first at rope drop, I doubt you'd need a fast pass for either Splash or BTMRR so ride those standby. You can probably ride Haunted Mansion standby also. So I'd pick up your first FP for 7DMT, a second FP for Peter Pan, and your third for Space Mountain.

Frontierland/Liberty Square
Splash, standby (at 9ish)
BTMRR, standby (at 9:30ish)
Haunted Mansion, standby (at 9:45ish)

Fantasyland
7DMT FP+ for 9:30-10:30 (at 10:15ish)
Small World & Mickey's Philharmagic, standby
Peter Pan FP+ 10:30-11:30 (at 11:00ish)
Pooh & Under the Sea, standby
Be Our Guest lunch

Tomorrowland
Space Mountain FP+ 12:30-1:30
Grab a FP for Buzz (think there's a kiosk right there near Stitch?)
Buzz Lightyear with FP (grab another for Jungle Cruise or Pirates)
Carousel of Progress... Monsters... Stitch.... standby (or whatever your family wants until next FP window opens)
Head to Adventureland to use next FP

Adventureland
Use FP to ride Jungle Cruise (or Pirates)
Is there a kiosk in Adventureland to book another? If so, book for Pirates (or JC)
Magic Carpets & Tiki Birds, standby
Use FP to ride Pirates (or JC)

And that's it. Think you're done with plenty of time for your dinner at the Plaza!
