DH and I are going to Disney Quest for the first time next Sunday (we leave in 5 days--can't wait!!). We plan to be there approximately 4 hours. What attractions are not to miss, what do you think can be skipped, and what's a good way to tour DQ to make the most of our 4 hours? Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

GO EARLY - I think it opens at 11:30am - arrive by 11 AM and get on line

and see what rides your family likes :goodvibes

:) Our Favorites...
Virtual Jungle Cruise
Climb aboard a life-sized rubber raft with your friends and family, pick up a paddle and start rowing. On the screen in front of you, you'll see yourselves moving down a river during the age of the dinosaurs. The raft will pitch and roll along with the river, and watch out -- you may get splashed!

Buzz Lightyear's Astroblasters
These are the bumper cars of the future. Two people team up in each car -- one to steer and one to shoot balls at the targets on the other cars. If you're hit, your car will spin out of control! There's a 51-inch height requirement for this attraction.

Pirates of the Caribbean - Battle for Buccaneer Gold
This attraction, based on Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom, allows you to steer a pirate ship while the rest of your group mans the cannons. Travel over a virtual waterfall and capture gold from the other pirate ships! There's a 35-inch height requirement for this attraction.

Our favorites are the Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Astroblasters, and make your own rollar coaster.

When we go the first thing we do is the Jungle Cruise and Pirates- both on the 1st floor so head down once you are in (whichever line is shorter and then switch.) Then we move upstairs to the Astroblaster and the Pinball game. Then we do a rollar coaster ride. We head upstairs and do one of the virtual games on the top floor. Go back to the coaster. Play some video games. Go back to the coaster. If it is not to crowded go back to the Pirates. Create another coaster. Play some games. Create another coaster.

Anyway that is what we do. I am a coater fan and although my DH can't ride the ones in the park due to knee and back problems the coaster at Disneyquest doesn't bother him so we do that many times while we are there.

Overall the longest lines are for Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and Astroblasters. The rollar coaster line gets long but tends to move faster because they are constantly bringing in more people while the other have a specific time and then let in a group.

Cyberspace mountain is cool too :goodvibes

You design your own coaster and then ride it. We once made a sickening coaster that turned you upside down about 10 times and had to hit the emergency stop button because I felt like I was about to throw up :rotfl2: I was about 12 at the time, though.

Last time was a bit more mellow but still fun :goodvibes

The elevator lets you off at Venture Port on the 3rd floor. I suggest finding the stairs and heading straight for the 1st floor. Do pirate and jungle cruise. Then head up to the 2nd floor and do Aladdin's magic thing and make a virtual rollercoaster (you really do go upside down and side to side if you put it into your design). Head up to the 3rd floor and do Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and mighty ducks pin ball slam. Head up to 5th floor, eat. Then Kick some alien butt, ride the comix and play whatever games catch your interest on each floor after that.

Virtual Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean are must see rides.

After that we always like to do the Invasion Alien Encounter ride on the top floor.

Then we will head to the video games for awhile and let the kids tire themselves out.

Here's another vote for Pirates. I just love that one. Jungle cruise is something we always do, but I get tired. I think I just get into it to much and am too competitive. My DW and DD just sit and kind of half-heartedly paddle. I, on the other hand, am surprised I haven't broken an oar or two. I put my all into it. Alladin is popular with my DD but I don't care for it because again, DD and DW don't really try.

Pirates is the only thing that they get into enough to give it their best shot. Defintely don't miss that. Also, DD and DW enjoy virtual space mountain. They let me make the ride, and then they ride it. Motion rides like that (body wars, Star Tours) make me sick. They love it though and challenge me to make it wild enough to get them sick. Doesn't work though. I even had a CM assist me once creating what they assured me was the wildest creation possible. Still no luck.

For non-ride type things, something all 3 of us "discovered" and enjoyed last time was the "learn to draw Disney character" classes that they offer.

We always go later at night, like 9 to midnight, and there have never been lines for anything other than Pirates and Astroblasters. We only go in the off-seasons though, every other April and October.

Go on a sunny weekday at opening time during the slow season. :rotfl2:
That's what we've done both times (hate long lines). You'll have a great time! Be sure to do Pirates of the Caribbean first; not only is it the best attraction, it has a VERY limited capacity. Then Virtual Jungle Cruise, then Cyberspace Mountain.
