Hello,
My DH and I toured SSR this morning and decided to become members. :cool1: I wanted to thank all of you on this board for providing point information and everything else. I booked the tour only to look at the rooms. My DH made it very clear that we would not be purchasing and that I should not get too excited.

The tour took about a little over an hour. I told the guide I have been researching everything and she said "on the DIS boards"...yes...."well you probably know more than me" :goodvibes So she really cut out alot of junk that I already knew because my friends on DIS already gave me the correct information.

Okay, so we are sitting in a little office and DH turns to me and says this is a great deal we should just go for it. This statement came from the fact that we already discussed planning our next year's vacation. I tried to just state the facts (of course I had to do a little selling myself) Last year we spent a few thousand staying at WL, this year we spent another couple of thousand, and we were already planning 2007. It was a no brainer! :cool1:

I think the guide was shocked when I said let's go for it. I asked if the referral discount was still running and it was...of course I wasn't prepared with the information since DH was very strict in saying "no way"

Thank God I had my laptop so I signed the paperwork and came back to our resort and a nice member gave me their referral information.

And just like that I inherited a wonderful new DVC family! :grouphug:

Congratulations and Welcome Home!

Your story sounds very similar to mine-"we're not going to buy, we're just checking it out for future reference." :lmao:

Good thing husband's like to "save money."

Congrats and welcome home. We visited just to kill some time. WOW was I shocked when my DH said it is a no brainer let's buy!!! :goodvibes

Welcome Home! You will now have a lifetime of magic to plan and participate in. Your responsibility now is to turn your friends and family into Disney fanactics so they can join you on the wonderful vacations to come.

Moral of the story: Humor your husbands 'cause when the time comes to be strong we all fold like a house of cards.

You won't be sorry!! I just bought this past March and it has already been a no brainer several times over.

Welcome Home!! Gosh I love this family......

Congrats and welcome home neighboor.

As rinky said, we husbands fall victim to reverse child psychology everytime!

LOL - I'm sure doing my part - I'm in the middle of planning a big trip (26 people so far, and still growing!) ande have my first referral, and I don't even have my membership number assigned yet! :cool1: :cool1: Can't wait to go home for the first time!!
