Tour of Disney's Los Angeles and Hollywood

This seemed like the best section for this:

This was published today. A surprisingly detailed list of all the major places that figured into Walt Disney's life in L.A.—including the bank where he borrowed money and the location of the accident involving Flora.

How many of us vote to send @WonkaKid on this tour with his camera? ;) He's probably already been to many of these sites!

Challenge accepted. I’m joyriding in a Porsche and many of these places aren’t far from me. So: here are some pics.

This is Walt's original mansion on Woking Way. As is pointed out in the article, it's hard to see from the street and also the streets are rather narrow and windy up in this area so it's not especially easy to stop.

This is the house of Walt's uncle, where Walt and Roy lived initially. It's directly across the street from the house where Walt later moved and is also just a few blocks east of the original studio.

This is Walt's house... which, as you can see, is in the process of being un-Disneyed.

Love it! Hope you had a fun day in your fancy car. Your photos brought back instant memories of sandwiches in the bar at the Tam O'Shanter. We love that area. Sigh...

And a few more pics. I’ll head to Downtown Disney in the Porsche tomorrow. I’m a morning person and it’ll be more fun to be on the freeway when traffic is lighter.

Walt's first house all to himself. Again, so many of these places are all within about 1.5 miles of each other. Perhaps two miles at the most.

These are wonderful!

Thanks for the pictures! It brings back good memories of a touring day hubs and I had last summer which included a tour at the Disney Studios. :earsboy: You aren't kidding when you say the Woking Way is a little narrow and twisty, my husband was the driver and is never a nervous driver but he hated driving up there. He was convinced we were going to get into an accident there, he still shudders when I say Woking Way.
