We are heading down to Disney in a few weeks and we're wondering.....

Do you think it makes any sense for us to tour the villas/chat with a sales person even though we have no intention of buying in the next 12 months? I don't want to waste their time, but I would really LOVE to "see" the villas. I've done lots of research, so I don't really need any questions answered.

Would it be possible to just sneak a quick peek inside the villas? We are staying at the WL, but I'd like to see the BCVs.

We are pretty sure that we will eventually buy into the DVC. We may go resale since I really want BCV as our home resorts (I'm also holding out for the Polynesian villas being built eventually ;)

Also, what's the best way to make an appointment?

Thanks so much!!!

Amy

I think if you go take a look that you will be buying sooner than you think.

Also keep in mind that sometimes they offer incentives that are valid for 24-36-48 hours from the time of your first appointment. If this is of interest to you, you would lose out on that opportunity.

We rented points from a DISer just so that we could stay one night at the BCV. On the day of our departure, we stopped in at the DVC desk and hubby asked about seeing a 1 bedroom as we stayed in a studio and he knew very little about DVC .(unlike me who pores through all the DVC stuff I can find for years now)

They called the DVC center over at the Boardwalk to see if they could get us in on a tour. In ten minutes, we were in a DVC van on our way to the BWV. I explained to our tour guide that I knew about the DVC and that we weren't ready to buy just yet but we were interested in seeing a 1 bedroom. He said no problem, took us to a 1 bedroom and a studio and gave us an information booklet and answered hubby's few questions. When we left, they gave us a voucher for a free meal. Since we were on our way to the WL anyway, we decided to eat there. Afterwards, we wandered over to the Villas and the nice lady at the DVC desk asked us if we were interested in the DVC. We explained to her about our day and she arranged with mousekeeping to get us in to see a 2 bedroom.

We know we will buy into DVC one day, but with finances, we just can't do it right now. We are really hoping to do it in one or two years (crossing fingers!) and we are so glad we took the time to just tour the DVC resorts and look at the rooms. We also will buy resale as we fell in love with the BCV!

Go for it! Disney was really great at accommodating us, even though we were upfront and told them that we couldn't afford it right now.

Plus you won't be able to "see" the BCV Villas as they are all sold out. There won't be a model to show. They will show you SSR. DVC sales folks are usually very helpful, but they wouldn't be motivated to show you a BCV as they can't sell it. If things aren't full up, you might be able to go over to BCV and sweet talk them into letting you see a Villa (tell them you are thinking of staying there next trip). If they are full or very busy, though, that wouldn't work.

It only costs you your time to take the tour. They are no pressure and you will have an opportunity to ask lots of questions about the program. Go and enjoy!

It is not a waste of their time.

Maybe Disney will build Poly DVC someday, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Nothing will be built for several years until SSR is finished and sold. After that, expectation seems to be that Eagle Pines is next...
