How much time before our vacation should I buy his package? I think I am too late. We leave on Sunday. That gives me only 3 days to learn everything I need to know. Never have been before so the whole thing is very overwhelming for me at this point.

TIA.

I believe you have enough time. It's definitely worth it. It helped us out last year and we're planning to purchase again for our upcoming trip again. Just give yourself a couple of hours each night before bed and you and your family should have a good game plan.

Have you already made your ADRs? If you have, and some are for meals in the parks AND if it would be nearly impossible at this point to make ADR changes (not sure about how full things are in the restaurants at this time of year), then I wouldn't bother. I love TGM but I think the best way to make your plans is to determine which parks are best on which day and THEN make your ADRs accordingly. If you look at the plans and they tell you you really shouldn't be going to Epcot on the day you've booked lunch at Coral Reef...well, you might be better off just not knowing and do your best with the other tips you can pick up about park touring here.
If you don't have any ADR constrictions then definitely try to fit some TGM wisdom in!

Times too short to learn much that will help. You will not starve in WDW but signature restaurants will be just about impossible. We're not into TS meals, overpriced and time consuming. There are alot of terrific CS meals on property, and some great buffets. When you plan your next trip, I'd start the planning alot earlier. We've been to WDW 42 times and never used any subscription service or guide and are not into the so called free dining plans since we hate structured trips, we always eat fine, snag a reservation while there and have great times on vacation, don't fret but go, have fun and enjoy.

You might have to spend some serious hours immersed, but I think it's worth it - unless like the pp said you have a lot of reservations for dining in the parks that tie you to being in a certain park.

We've been 3x in the last 3 years and just used TGM this last time and WHAT a different experience. We only do ADRs for a couple dinners, and we have a toddler so we are forced to do the afternoon break for nap anyhow, so even just going to his recommendation in the morning and then where you are eating after nap (assuming you have park hopper tickets which I think is the only way to do it) it would probably still make a HUGE difference in your experience...
