"Touch the Mickey to the Mickey!" My first TR - Dec 2013 ~ New Update!! 4/07 x2!!!

I would love a Mickey waffle right now.
We were at Epcot that day.
Lucky you being the Rebel spy. I wish they would choose me.
Nice pics at Indy.

AHHHH that Mickey Waffle looks SO GOOD!!! The Disney coffee isn't great to be sure, but I have to admit, first thing in the morning I tend not to care. Just hook the caffeine directly into my veins.

I think I had that Santa head too!!! Ah memories.

you got a good amount done in the morning ... I think we've always skipped over whatever was in that location that is now the pirates show :rotfl:

BTW - I happened to re-read your previous post and I think the first time I missed the part about saying "Beverly" like how Capt. Picard said it ... which I of course could hear perfectly in my head. Though, he said it in a somewhat annoyed manner - I think that is just because I feel that everything Patrick Steward says sounds important

joining in for your trip report I love that you made a Disney color book I am 40 mom of two girls now 14 and 20 and I love Disney color books still. happy anniversary my husband and I spent our first anniversary at Disney and also our 20th anniversary and next plan on going for our 25th next year. no better way to spend a anniversary in my opinion.

YAY! :welcome: So glad your joining in!
Disney coloing books are the best!
I agree. Going to Dsney World is the best way to celebrate an anniversary.

Me too :)
With the exception of our situatuion, I think you have a better chance at being the Rebel Spy if you a celebration button.
Thanks! I got a new lense that can zoom in a lot, and Indy was the perfect opportunity to test it out.

And it was delicious! Although, I think anything Mickey shaped just tasted better :thumbsup2
That Santa head is everywhere!

Yeah, I never saw the Narnia thing. The Pirate experience is cool. Nothing to go out of your way for, but if you have time to kill then it's good. And air conditioned!

Haha! Yeah, its hard to type in a British accent  I was hoping someone would pick up on that. It still cracks me up ::Patrick Stewart voice:: Beverly :rotfl:

Day 3 Part 2
Still Undefeated!

So, I left off when we were in search of food on Sunset Boulevard.

Since we were in the area, I grabbed some fastpasses for the Tower of Terror.

We decided to get some lunch at Fairfax Faire. We both got the pulled pork hot dog. I swear there's a hot dog under all that pulled pork and coleslaw.

It was very tasty, but messy.

We had fastpasses on our magicbands for Star Tours, so that's where we headed next.

After we got off the ride, I felt a little dizzy. I never get motion sick (except for one time on Mission:Space). I think it was a combination of all the food I just ate and the motion of the ride. :crazy2:

We decided to slow down a bit and go on one of my favorites: The Great Movie Ride.
I know some people think it's a bit outdated, and I don't disagree, but I think that the movies that are represented are great classics and have made movies what they are today. I wouldn't mind if they updated it, but I like it the way it is.

Something miraculous happened to us on this particular ride. Cory would always say that he didn't think it existed, and I was starting to believe him, but we got the cowboy scene!! :hyper: Of course I didn't get any pictures of it :sad2: As we pulled up to it, I whipped my camcorder out so I could video tape it.

I had read on here that all you need to do is ask for the cowboy scene. So simple, right? That's what I planned on doing. But I also read that if you get in the first car, then you will get it and the second car gets the gangster scene. Well, when we got to the loading area, I saw that we were going to get into the first car, so I didn't ask the CM. I wanted to see if it was true about the first car. It is! We got the cowboy scene and I was so excited! I nearly jumped out of the car when we passed through the gangster area.

Now, with the cryptid cowboy mystery solved, it was time for our TSM fastpasses, so we went over to Pixar Place. We stopped in One Man's Dream. This is a great attraction. It saddens me to think of how overlooked it is. I love all the little displays. If you haven't seen it, I strongly urge you to make a point to.

We didn’t stay for the movie because the doors had just closed and we didn’t want to wait 20 minutes, so we just went over to TSM to use our paper fast passes.

Now, I say “paper” fast passes because we had the physical fast passes and the ones on our magicband. Since the magicbands were still in their testing phase, we still had the option to use our park tickets to get the paper fast passes. I know it's frowned upon to do it this way, but I figured we would take advantage of the paper fast passes while they are still around. I'm not sure if I like the new fastpass+ system. If I'm understanding it correctly, you only get three fastpasses a day and that’s it. And you can only get them for one park a day. So, if you plan on park hopping, you'll only be able to get a fastpass for one of the parks. In Epcot, you have to choose between Soarin' and Test Track. You can't get a fast pass for both. If this is indeed the case, then doesn't that mean that the stand-by lines will be longer because there aren’t as many fastpasses being distributed?

So we went on TSM. I love this ride. It is so much fun! I just wish I could go on it more. With the stand-by line always being so long and the fast passes going so quickly, I'm lucky if I get two rides in. But it is just so much fun!

I won, of course. Cory thinks I cheat, but there really isn’t any way to cheat on TSM. If there is, then it's news to me. It's not like Buzzlightyear where there are hidden targets that give you a lot of points. I just go for the targets with high amounts.

After we got off the ride, we waited around because we had a magicband fast pass for TSM that was coming up soon.

While waiting, we grabbed a cherry Weezy Breezy Freezy and sat on a bench to people watch for a bit.

The green army men were out and about and I saw the cutest thing happen. One of the army men was taking a picture with a little boy. After they took the picture, he must have noticed that the boy's shoe was untied, so he bent down and tied it for him. It was so precious. I was going to take a picture, but I didn't want to be creepy. But it was just the most adorable thing.

So, we went back to TSM and I won again. I swear, I don't cheat.

We had our ToT fastpasses coming up, so we made our way over to Sunset Boulevard.

Next Update

The Great Movie Ride really is the Great Debate. I'd like to see them maybe change out one or 2 scenes and continuously update just those 1 or 2 over time. Perfect compromise I think.

Yup, I recently discovered that as well. First car is Cowboy. But I have also been told (by a CM) that they only run it when it's busier, so that would explain why it appears so infrequently. But early December was for sure the time of the Cowboy!!

Yeah, I think the jury is still out regarding stand by and FP+. BUT, I imagine the waits for lower attractions that never ever needed a FP are the ones that will be most hit. Those lines will be much longer I think.

Day 3 Part 3
The Tower and the Pizza

After our fun on TSM, we had our ToT fastpasses coming up. So that's where we headed next.
The queue for this ride is my favorite. I just love the unkempt grounds and the lobby.
The lobby is amazing.

The CMs we got in the TV room and in the boiler room were perfect. Very creepy. Getting a good CM who is in character gives this ride a little bit more oomph. When we loaded into the elevator, the CM was saying his spiel about the hotel, ya know, “This elevator will take you to your floor. Enjoy your stay at the Hollywood Hotel” Something along the lines of that. Then as the doors were closing he yells, “Oh wait! I forgot to tell you...” and the doors closed. I thought that was very cool.

The ride was lots of fun. When it's over, I always make sure I turn around to see the creepy dummy. Sitting there. Watching. Always watching...

Maybe one of these days I'll muster up enough courage to try to get a picture of him.

We had a fastpass on our magicband for ToT so we got right back in line.

The boiler room CM we got this time was way to perky. But the ride was fun either way.

After our trip through the twilight zone, we headed over to Muppetvision 3D, but on the way I had to get a Mickey bar.

After the show we went over to Pizza Planet for dinner.
I love this place. It's my favorite quick service in HS. I mean, there really isn't much competition. I think HS has some pretty underwhelming quick service places.

Delicious. I love Disney pizza.

It was almost sun down, so we headed over to the Streets of America for my absolute favorite part of visiting WDW during the holidays.

Day 3 Part 4
OFSoDL

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights is just unbelievable. It gives me the chills ever time I see it.
It is perfect.

I love it so much. The light sequences every few minutes are my favorite part.

We hung around there for about two hours, just taking in all the magic. I could have stayed there all night, but Cory was getting tired, so we headed back to the room.

I finished off my night with a few of these bad boys.

Delicious! I have never had bengiets before, so I didn't really have much to compare them too, but these were so good. Messy, but good.

They were the perfect ending to a wonderful day.

I am one who thinks TGMR needs to be redone or gone. I wouldn’t mind a newer interactive version. Just something different. LOL
We asked for the Cowboy last time. It was nice seeing something different.
I love “One man’s Dream”. I have never seen the movie yet.
Now you get more than 3 fp’s a day but not sure when they are starting it and park hopping with them is coming too.
Love the TOT pics.
Great pics of Osborne Lights.
Looks like a fun day and night.
