Hello!!

Does anyone have the Toto brand toilets in their home???? Are they better than American Standard???? Opinions??? Likes?? Dislikes???

Building a new home is such a HUGE pain in the A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared: :headache:

THANKS for any help!!!!!!!!

We just replaced two toilets and went with the Toto. I like them. They have the lids that when you put them down, they do not slam down, but go down gradually.

I don't have one but was listening to Whoopi Goldberg on the radio. She has a Toto toilet and loved it. I had no idea what one was so I came in googled it. :rotfl2:

Two of my bathrooms have Totos. I'm not crazy about them because when they flush they sometimes "spit" water back at you - which completely grosses me out, even though it's "clean" water, KWIM?

We're doing a total remodel and I don't think I will replace with Totos. I'm really not sure what all the hoopla is over them. :confused3

I have Toto. A frind of mine is a plumber, and he says they're the best. Only thing about them (at least mine) is they don't use the "universal" type flappers like they have at Lowes/HD/etc. I've had to get my replacements at a plumbing supply place, and not all plumbing pupply places carry replacement Toto parts, so I have to go to one particluar one that is out of the way. Actually, this last time I went, they didn't even have the right one I needed. I had to get a Fluidmaster specialty kit that fits over the opening in the pipe where the flapper goes. That was actually cheaper than the flapper I used to buy, so now that I know it works, I may go back and buy a few to keep on hand just in case they stop making them!

Othe than having to replace the flapper in the guest toilet a couple of times in the past 8 years, I've had no problems at all with mine.

I really couldn't believe my wife wanted to replace a perfectly good toilet (a Stirling), but the Toto is actually substantially better.

:goodvibes Yeah, like what's a bad toilet by comparison? :confused3

This is funny. The first time I noticed the Toto brand was yesterday. It was at my customer and in their mens room. It was a stand up urinal. And it was a better design IMO than the older style next to it. Their deptartment is facilities management and construction. I guess there giving it a "test drive".
I have yet to see their "home" models so I don't know how they compare.

We have one in our downstairs bathroom, and it's everyone in the family's first choice when they need to really go. :rotfl: It's way better than the regular ones our builder installed, but I'm too cheap to replace the others.

The kind of lid Patty3 mentioned isn't really related to Toto -- you can buy those at Lowe's or Home Depot for whatever kind of toilet you have. You have to replace lids a lot more often than toilets, at least those of us with large numbers of boys do. (Don't think about it!)

We bought a Gerber and love it. Because of DH's knee replacement and hip problems we needed a "tall" toilet. We love it but have never seen a Toto. How are they different?
