Totally Annoyed by Notary Public Signature Process as a Canadian Buyer

I'm also in the process of purchasing Aulani resale and as a us citizen in the us I also need to have documents notarized.

I can tell you that your timeline is wide open for two bedrooms except for standard view. Looks like the lock off two bedrooms go pretty quickly at the 7 month mark but you should be ok with dedicated 2 bedroom.

Is the notary thing specific to Aulani? We did not have to do that when we booked resale at SSR.

For both of my resales I had to have a notary for the final signing of closing papers...I am in NY and bought BLT.

Unless memory fails me, ten years ago I believe we had to get papers notarized. We live in PA and bought direct

As to possible availability for the time you want, Jan 23-30, 2018, in a 2BR at Aulani, be aware that for the same time period in 2017, 2BRs were open even at 7 months out except for standard view 2BR lock-offs.

If it is acceptable, make sure you call ahead to be sure the person who can notarize the document will be there. They are not necessarily available all the time!

I'm not sure whereabouts you live or whether I am understanding the situation correctly, but have you looked for a notary closer to you who is also recognized as a US notary? We are in Toronto and there are a multitude of notaries here who are accredited by the US.

I've checked locally and no one in the province of Saskatchewan offers US Notary Public Services. We have it cleared from our Escrow agent that travel to nearest US State for notary services is most welcome. Certainly a much better option than having the Foreign Affairs office in ottawa clear the Canadian Notary Public's signature and then authenticated by the Us embassy! Seriously not impressed with our Escrow agent...she was little help. it's been very frustrating process. Thankful for this forum as it was another poster who made the suggestion to travel
Across the border to get the job done. Oh and this is just for Aulani and Hawaii real estate Deed transfers...
