HI!
So, my husband surprised me by suggesting that we go back to WDW this Jan. after having a wonderful visit to WL last January. Now I'm trying to decide where to stay and am considering DVC point rental. Can anyone explain to me how to go about doing this? Still not sure we want to go this route, but it's intriguing...

Thanks to all of you!

This is what we are doing in Jan/Feb and I am so excited I can't stand myself! Just had to share...

Just had to reply. We have stayed at many resort hotels and begged my husband for DVC -- to no avail :confused3 Found out on our trip - 4th of July at Contemporary, from a man in the hot tub, THANK YOU, THANK YOU about these boards.

After going to the rent/trade boards we are now staying next week at Saratoga Springs and the Beach Club :cool1: for the same price (VERY close) as we would have payed for moderate hotels, and WAY !!! less than we have payed for deluxe hotels this summer ) SOOO excited, and it was so easy.

I just read the posts of people looking to rent points, got registered, then privated messaged the points I was interested in and they booked the dates for me and I payed them. I am so excited about this board.

Oh, also already made reservations for Christmas at a Disney Vacation Club this way !!! Soo Excited.

I highly suggest this route, it's awesome !!! :jumping1:

Angie, you sweetheart, I'm glad you're pleased with renting! :love2: Renting is a transaction that takes trust on both ends of the deal. When you find a person to rent from, email them, and check your mail, every day for a response. When the renter emails you, you need to answer quickly, or else you will lose the points, so you need to know ahead of time what it is that you want. If you know now what you want in Jan.(BCV--1 bedroom, for example), you need to be looking for someone who can rent you points. You will probably need to pay some money at the beginning, and the rest a little later into the process, but a month or two before you check in. Try to find a renter who has a fairly high number of posts on this board--they probably have rented on this board successfully in the past. At the very least, you need to feel comfortable with the person who is renting the points. :wave2:

Thanks to all of you! My huband and I will have some talking to do about all of this....

:sunny: Have a good one!

Don't take too long to decide as it may be difficult to book a DVC resort less than six months out. You may need to be flexible as to which resort you are willing to stay at and what type of accomodations are acceptable. :)
