Can somebody please tell me if the the TOT's are the same between WDW and DCA. I'm getting the feeling that DCA's version doesn't have multiple drops like MGM's???? I hope to get to DCA this fall and can't wait to get on it, but feel I might be dissapointed in it. What say you?? :tinker:
PS I'm sorry if this post has been asked before. :rolleyes1

I think WDW has random drop sequences which the DCA version does not. Also, the WDW moves more. However, the DCA version is still a great ride.

I wonder why they just didn't make them both the same??? Do you mean that when you go up the elevator, it doesn't move forward into the eerie part and then to the drop area? Thanks! :goodvibes

DCA's Tower of Terror does not have the Fifth Dimension Room (where you move forward). Instead it has a very interesting special effect that involves the guests on the ride.

I've heard rumors that eventually the random drop sequence will be put into place, but I don't know when that will happen.

Yeah, the cars just go up and down, no moving forward. It's still fun though :)

Oh, I think because of the lack of moving forward, the drop was a bigger surprise for me.

Can't wait to see the differences now. Thanks everyone for the info. Have a nice day!! :goodvibes

My understanding is that the 5th Dimension Room at MGM's TOT is what causes most of the ride breakdowns there. I hope that DCA's TOT will get the randomized sequences. In the meantime, there are multiple drops.

I have not been on the TOT in WDW yet .. next year

But the TOT at DL does do the random drops, it is one of my favorite rides and I drag DH on it more than he likes, but the drops have been different for me on the same day or at least they seemed it to me. I did ask one of the CM's about it and they said it was random. (I was last there in May 06.) When you get in TOT the doors close and you roll back. Then you go up a little to get the "story" and the ride proceeds from there.

I can't wait to get on the TOT at WDW .. I am sure I will love that too! I will be very interested to see how the moving forward works ... :hyper:

So far at DCA, I've only had the same sequence that's been used since the ride opened.

WOW! This is getting more curious. You roll back?? :rotfl2: Actually, maybe its's good to be different, because now I won't know what to expect and it WILL be a REAL surprise. I wonder what the Unofficial Guide says about DCA's version. I know that he gives WDW's the best attraction overall the others. This is because it is so unique. And it truly is. That was my favorite ride there, and now we have it here. WOO HOO!! : :woohoo:

We had random drops when we were there in 2004. This is my favorite ride at both parks! CAn't wait till I ride it in 2 more days. WooHoo :cool1:
