I'm signed up to do the TOT 10 Miler and am thinking I'll want my jacket after I'm done since I plan to go to the party and ride some of the rides. I know being sweaty and siting on an air conditioned ride probably wouldn't be a goo combination! I did bag check for Wine and Dine in 2010 and it was a nightmare. They funneled thousands of runners into a very small building and it ended up taking me an hour waiting while runners were passing out around me to finally get my bag. SO...had anyone checked a bag for TOT and can you tell me what your experience was with the whole thing? TIA :)

My husband and I ran the TOT 10 miler in 2012. We remember bag check pick up to be a lot easier than the wine & dine. Bag pick up was located inside the theater for Indiana Jones. It did not take long at all. We're running it again this October. Have fun and maybe we'll see you there!

Great!!! Is the finish line close to the Indiana Jones Theater? Yeah, the more the merrier :) hope I see y'all too!

I couldn't tell you exactly where we finished but we eventually exited down the ramp at at the entrance to Fantasmic. We had to walk from Fantasmic to the Indy theater and there was a long line for the bags but it moved quickly. We walked down the steps to the bottom of the theater, then back up to exit. Getting the bag from the volunteers was a breeze.

TOT bag check had a long line when I got there, but it moved along; I'd say I waited maybe 10-15 mins. However, the stairs down to the bags and back up? Pure, unadulterated HELL. Especially with an injured knee I couldn't bend. :headache: I hope they come up with a different location/system this year...

10-15 minute wait isn't bad at all but the stairs do sound like torture. Why don't they think about things like that???

Those stairs did feel like cruel and unusual punishment after a race.

Please note that the race last year was at 10pm when it was 88 with 78 humidity. It was unbelievably hot. At the end of the race, the finish is at the tower of terror inside the park. The finish line wraps around the tower I think and goes up stairs to get water and medic tent. I finished at 2:15 and remember seeing everyone just sitting around in the finish loop at a bathroom and medic tent trying to just cool down. It was a little walk, maybe 5 minutes to find where they were handing out bags. Yes, the stairs was a problem. Going up just to get out of the finish corral. Then down to the stage only because that was the longest I ran to date and it was really hot and humid. Once you wound around to the stage it was great. This was the first race they did at HS and you finish inside the park. Not sure any other race does that.

Disney made a lot of mistakes. But I think they will correct them where they can. They already have by moving the race to a later date, and thus hopefully cooler temps. They should be adding more course entertainment. And a lot of other runners talked about the stairs to get the bags. You may just have to wait until you get to the expo where you can ask to see what the new plans are for that race.

I have run 4 Disney races and I have never had a problem with getting my bag back in a timely manner.

Thanks for sharing your experience aliron! :) Hopefully they will make the changes they need to and actually be able to tell me at the Expo where bag check will be. That will make a difference in whether I check a bag or not. I have run 2 Disney races and only checked my bag for the Wine and Dine in 2010 and as I said in my first post that was a horrible and long experience!
