Looking for opinions and experiences with this excursion in Tortola. We are looking to book through Disney.

Some things to keep in mind:
We have a little guy who will be turning 1 on the cruise. While he is the one we are most concerned with on the excursion, we also have other kids who are 6, 9, 15, and 17, and we would like for them to enjoy it as well. Any experiences will small ones would be great.

We have dietary restrictions of gluten and dairy (as well as scallops, clams, and lobster, but those are easier to avoid). There is a small meal served on this excursion and we are wondering how allergy friendly it is.

I recommend just taking a taxi to the beach (which is very easy to do in Tortola). We did an Island Drive and Beach Break DCL excursion on Tortola last month (though not the Fusion one), and it was miserable.

Long delay getting started, waiting in line in the heat, multiple drivers actually took all participants on the wrong excursion (remember, no Disney people actually go on these excursions- the tours are contracted out, so once you get off the ship, you're kind of handed over). Finally we realized they didn't have the right excursion in mind, and we had to tell them we had all been taken to the wrong place. After sorting this mess out, they finally took everyone to the beach, which was okay but nothing extraordinary.

Tortola is a small, peaceful island where people speak English and gladly accept American dollars, so a taxi is a much better option, imo. The same types of drivers and vehicles who operate the tours are driving the taxis, so you aren't getting anything better via DCL, just a lot of hassle and wasted time.

Kind of true. We had two undercover Disney guest services persons on one of our tours to St John. They were there to experience the tour as a guest and make notes and report findings and stuff. I knew it was them because of a few things, they were always using their phone, seemed less interesting in seeing the things the guide was talking about, and actually what the guide was talking about. I also saw them at the excursions desk later that week. Granted I do not know if the tour company knew they were being graded ahead of time.
